Purity of "element" aura is active but resitance bonus doesn't show on character sheet?

I've been through all the common trouble shooting for this skill. I'm on PS5. The aura is toggled on, on my main weapon set. I have the aura under my feet indicating the skill is active, but nothing is changing on the corresponding element's resistance value on my character sheet.

I was hoping getting the bonus of the purity skill would allow me to adjust the stat distribution on my gear.
