Act 3 Sacrifical Heart Bug

I advanced past Doryani Boss fight but forgot to turn in the heart at the previous zones alter and now I'm locked from going back. Its also stuck in my inventory and can't be removed. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

You don't understand. The gateway is closed because Utzaal was destroyed. You cannot go back to the past. The game will not let you, so it appears I'm stuck with this quest item.
