Echoing Cry not exploding Earthshatter spikes

I'm not sure if this is intended and don't see any wording to imply that the repeat echoes from the support gem "Echoing Cry" would not shatter "Earthshatter" spikes.

Would be interesting if it worked. If the echoes repeated every 1 second, you'd want to maximize attack speed so that you can always have max spikes up before echoes go off.
