[BUILD] Scion - Dual Wield Swords DEX/STR

Hello,
I'm a brand new player, I've started the game a few days ago. This is why I wanted to ask for some advice here.
I unlocked Scion with my Witch and I can (finally) start my real character: a melee fighter.
I do enjoy dual wielding in many games/films because of the style not just because it can provide power or something like.

I started to think about the build I'd be using and I came up with this :

Scion build:

Here are the stats that this build will give me, I added the passive bonuses from dual-wielding:

Spoiler
DAMAGE: 530% (+DW 10%)= 540%
ATTACK SPEED: 126% (+DW 10%)= 136%
ACCURACY: 116%
CRITICAL STRIKE CHANCE: 125%
CRITICAL MULTIPLIER: 50
BLOCK CHANCE: 8% (+DW 15%)= 23%
MOVEMENT SPEED:
HP: 68% (+12 hp max)
MANA: 48%
MANA REGEN: 40%
MANA COST: -24%

Here is a list of the Skill/Support gems that look interesting to me. I did not have the time to see the combinations I could do, but it's just for you guys to get an idea.

Spoiler

My main questions are :

- Would this build be efficient in higher difficulties ?
- Which type of swords should I get ? Rapiers or classic swords ? Rapiers seem to be more useful because of the critical multiplier, whereas typical swords give more accuracy.
- Which type of armor would suit this build? I wanted to get some Evasion+Energy Shield, but unfortunatly Energy Shield requires Intelligence, and I don't plan on getting any. I don't know if more armour would be enough because I didn't build the character to be tanky but more of a "roguish" style.

I think I'll start to put some points into the DEX tree to get some mana regen, because for now at low level it is a bit an issue.

Thanks in advance for those who will take the time to reply. :)

- Yes, dual wield builds are effective all the way, dual strike is the best option for single target, and modded with splash support is the best for crowd control, some will use cleave but it's more for variety sake these days, cleave got rebalanced recently and isn't OP with dual-wielding as before.

- Both types of swords do roughly the same damage, attack rating bonus is nice but often not needed, and crit multiplier is useful if you are going for a crit build but swords aren't really suited for it anyway, low base crit. So just use whatever you find, both are swords so you don't really have to choose.

- Evasion-energy shield is played most often with straight INT gear to get big shield and grace aura to get evasion. That particular combo is poorly suited for melee unless you get great gear and use ghost reaver/CI/vaal pact passive combo. For what you're attempting it would probably be best if you used pure evasion gear and got Iron Reflexes, or just go full dex EVA.

About your passive tree... I would build it like that only if I wanted to die often and painful. Oh, it would finish normal difficulty but you will start having a hard time as soon as early cruel. Get life, get more life and then get even more life. Damage will come with gear and supports and it will be adequate, but you must invest into defense heavily. Keep this in mind: Put everything you can into defense and any leftovers into utility, other then starting ones put into attack nodes only if you have to go through them to reach... more defense.
Wish the armchair developers would go back to developing armchairs.

Thanks for the reply.
However you're telling me to play tanky, hp/armor. Alright, but seriously does anyone has to build around a tank build just to survive in higher difficulties? If so, that's not difficulty, it's just mobs hitting harder with hits you can't avoid to make it looks like difficulty. Sounds pretty lame if you ask me.
Damage can come from gear just as hp/armor can come from it too. I think it will depend on which items I'll find.

Righto, it isn't and it's lame.

Well, just forget about ratios from other games in the genre. In other games you are a full tank if you invest around 50% of all your points into defense. Now, barring travel points and utility, you can invest as much as 80% of your passive points into defense and still not be tanky, not to mention a 'full tank'. Of course, you can achieve that, but through other means.

Ah, if you got the impression the game is just a forced, brutal gearcheck like some others we will not name, I'm sorry, because it isn't. You can compensate for a lot of things just by doing something else, we have a lot of wiggling space here. But, you still have to think of defense first, there are no true glass cannons here, at least no successful ones.

how much %hp increase would you suggest ? :P
Oh, dunno, 200% is a nice, round number, if you play HC go for even more :)

Hey,
Here's what I got, seems better with more sustainable passives:

http://www.pathofexile.com/passive-skill-tree/AAAAAgAAvrz0xkUKNdY7KG-eykoZhlFMIJzigH1bRZbrLJLNrEfDOpu1UzVtbLVIbXtVSyaVD6sxnqZXTeP-jzWSOuHyRf4K52OI8axZtfJuqkrIqW54Db6KAdykGRv6Jd-E2WVNR35Yrzbor6IQ8BfcBqI6cTpShmBWBGFSG6qI7W1KgTpgiFWpl7SsuuHaMHWazL_VRJ6wc-y28fRTuyi1704o29_vHcpAoJ65bmm-p9JN7-NjcDSTtkFOKluv0O73o2J5FfbEuNX4wA8IZxmi5AgF00wyIupE0vJaJbUCEed0YeLo1psmMgGyGc96Yet6U4w2

Stats:
- Damage: +247% (+2dmg) --> Total with DW bonus = +257%
- HP: 184% (+28) > lots of swords talents give more %hp.
- Armor: +222%
- Evasion: +290% (+20)
- Elemental Resistance: +22%
- Crit Multiplier: 40 ( I think I'm going for rapiers to add more crit multiplier, rapiers seems more useful despite having a dull autoattack).
- Accuracy: +80%
- Critical Strike Chance: 80%
- Attack Speed: +30% --> Total with DW bonus= +40%
- Mana Cost: -20%
- DW Block: 18% --> Total with DW bonus= 33%
- Mana: +32% (+16)
- Mana Regen: +100%
