Really hoping this is viable. Haven't played in a few leagues and am super excited to try this build if its viable. Didn't even know about skeletal mages until last night.

See my post above yours. Should still be viable for mapping. Just bossing will need a bit tweaking. So if you need just a char to farm currency, this is a very viable choice.

I am struggling with pushing my armor up to the 6k margin that I see on PoB. I can barely get 1500 and the individual armor stats on PoB are worse than what I got. To be fair, I still need to rework my skill tree, but it looks like theres only a 50% increase from the tree, so I'd still be way behind. Does anyone know why this might be happening?

Hi,

if you check the PoB and tick off the Rumi Flask, you will see that the build also only has 1700 armor as base. The rest comes from the flask.

anyone tested this in 3.10? I'm going to be super sad if i wind up building it and then i find out that it just cannot handle t16 maps or conquerors or delirium encounters. The "minions cannot die within 5 seconds of being created" cluster seems really neat for this though maybe. Guess I'm gonna give it a shot
I started off running this build, but made some changes for it to be able to comfortably run in t16/Sirus.

Let me start off by saying that the base build will be able to get you to t12/t13 ish before delirium starts getting spicy. It was around this time where I had to make some changes to the build.

1) Buy/Make level 21 spectres and lvl 21 summon skeletons.
If you are using Femurs and a Bone Helmet with at least a +2 to socketed minion gems, then you can hit lvl 25 in both which allows you to summon an extra. If you find this hard to do early game you can try a curse on hit arc setup with elemental weakness and place Skitterbots in a socketed ring.

2) You need more health.
Running delirium with sub or around 5k health at higher tier maps is hard. I would suggest trying to bump your effective health to around 6-7k.

3) Play around with your passive tree.
The tree wasn't updated to include cluster jewels, but they are a huge part of the league now and provide a lot more bonus than just a vanilla tree. I'm currently running a large cluster, 1 medium, and 2 small.

4) Incorporate some offering skills.
Flesh offering is a great dps boost and bone offering is a great defensive option. Pick which one you want to run. I personally ran flesh offering.

If you want to also add zombies into your build, you can take a look at my POB. It incorporates zombies to help survivability and DPS.

Cluster Jewels were hard to add unless I know some. Will add possibities for them soon.

And yeah, Dilirium wants probably a bit better gear, but as on all of my builds, my gear is just to show on how small gear you can get going and leave space to go higher.

I personally would still suggest to go only Skellies + Spectres + Animated Guardian

But the Guardian only when you have it 21/20 AT LEAST with a full equip

Still trying to figure out if the old setup of spectres is still best or if damage spectres will benefit more than fire-res debuff and 2 charges.

Big fan of the build! I love skeleton mages and I've been basing my current build off of your build.

That's perfectly true. I definitely followed your item guide until around red maps. That's when I had to start upgrading because I started dying a lot in delirium maps.

I think that if you play carefully/slower in delirium you can get away with less health and generally worse gear. I've been trying to beef up with more layers of protection, so I was experimenting with aggro zombies/defensive zombies. I leaned towards defensive zombies with meat shield support and they seem to help a bit.

I am still running the spectre setup that you suggested, but would be interested if you had better options. I think running carnage + host chieftain is needed, but I'm not sure about defiler + vanguard. I personally think even running 2 carnage and 2 host would be fine.

Thanks for the work you put into the build! Looking forward to an update whenever that comes out.

I am playing just guardian + spectres (21 lvl) + skellies (21 lvl) (and have 13 of them) and feeling comfortable on T16 maps. What cool gear can you advice for guardian (I have only Kingmaker)? And do you think that Saqawal's gear can greatly improve the build - with it I'll lose one skeleton and definitely a good portion of HP?

P.S. Also waiting your analysis about old or new spectres!

You can use both flesh and bone offering if you have leash of oblation leather belt.

Put them and desecrate in a wand/sceptre/dagger with the crafted mod: "trigger a socketed spell when you use a skill"

Yep, I also noticed this but when I tried it out I was pretty underwhelmed by it. Stygian Vise is just too good, especially with a good abyss jewel, to pass up. A thicc stygian really helps with the survivability later on as you get to 60 or 80% delirious maps with sextanted watchstones. Here is my updated PoB in case you were interested.

As for Saqawals it accounts for around 13% ish of my damage so it's definitely a good upgrade.
