Can someone tell me if there is something really wrong with my gear?

I have most of the important items for Skellie Mages but I am getting absolutely destroyed in higher tier fights. I die almost instantly in the Formed, sometimes even against basic guardians.

Please help, I don't think the build is supposed to be like what I'm seeing.

You can try Anomalous Feeding Frenzy, as it provides quite a bit of life on hit, but the issue is most likely the Ancient Skull helmet.

If you're using Ancient Skull, you kinda' need minion chaos resist and minion life regen. When they crit, minions take 20% of life as chaos damage, for 5 seconds. Try allocating "Grave Intentions" cluster, or use some abyss jewels with minion chaos resist. Cluster jewels with "Renewal" also help.

A few pages earlier, it was suggested to switch Offerings from Spirit to Bone and allocating Decay Ward, I did that (using a Timeless Jewel to save the travelnotes). Adding in Convocation to pull them out of harms way.

It helps a lot, however you kinda feel like you have to babysit your minions which is a pain sometimes, especially in more stressful fights. Having to stop moving in order to cast Desecrate/Bone Offering all the time doesn't help either. They do however survive a lot better due to loads of block and 2% heal per block from Bone Offering & Decay Ward.


I'm strongly considering removing the Spectres/Golem altogether, but I haven't figured out, what else to use yet, those charges really boost the spiders' damage...

Against hard-hitting mobs, Anomalous Feeding Frenzy is great! Your minions recover 1% life per hit.

- You have no +Life on your Helmet, better a +2 Helmet with Life than +3 with
nothing imho.

- You have 2 Ghastly Eye Jewels with no +Life, aim for 34+

- You skilled "Minion Offense Mastery" which is useless with Fleshcrafter.
- Change to +100% Critchance for Minions.

With Ashes of the Stars you should be able to use Zealotry + Generosity instead of Skitterbots
I am now playing necro after several leagues. So far it is okay.

I just wonder two issues.

Firstly, does gem lvl of summon skeleton make sense in terms of dps other than number of skeletons?

Secondly, do zombies supported by meat shield gem take damages coming to me? Or just by chance make their job?

If you have 10 or 11 Skele Mages fireing their Missiles is a DPS difference.

Meat Shield

is used primarely that Minions take Less Damage, it has no negative impact to the Necromancer.

So, you mean lvl of gem just increases skele numbers, not its inherent damage!

As for the meat shield, deterministically it doesnt do meat shield for me.
