Showcase for updated Bleed-based Summon Reaper build for 3.17. This build is based on Pr3vie's build from 3.15. I updated the passive tree to 3.17 and made some changes to match my usual passive tree. I also changed the cluster jewels and some of the gems and links. I’m not sure what the build costs because the gear was donated to me in 3.15.

MASTERY
Minion Masteries
1. Minions leech 1% of damage
2. Minions overwhelm 20% physical damage reduction
3. 20% increased effect of Offerings

Life Masteries
4. +50 to Maximum Life
5. 10% increased Maximum Life / 10% reduced Life Recovery

Mana Mastery
6. 15% increased Mana Reservation Efficiency



CLUSTER JEWELS

• 1x Large: 12 points. 25 or 35% small passive effect
• 2x Medium: 4-5 points. Cult-Leader, Disciples



JEWELS

• Amanamu's Gaze
• Fortress Covenant
• Ghastly Eye



ASCENDANCY

1. Mindless Aggression
2. Unnatural Strength
3. Commander of Darkness
4. Plaguebringer



PANTHEON

Major: Lunaris
Minor: Abberath (immune to burning ground - Searing exarch influence)


Gear, Gems Links & Flasks

HELMET

For the helmet, use an Elder Bone Helmet with nearby enemies take increased physical damage.
Can also get +2 or +3 to minion gems or Minion damage.

Enchant: Reaper extra dot multiplier





BODY

Victario's Influence is used to boosts auras for more damage.



Herald of Purity is for the medium cluster jewels which give 110% increased damage.



GLOVES

Asenath's Gentle Touch gives a lot of clear speed because of the temporal chains explosions.

Enchant: Spite. It will hit a lot of monsters and proc more temp chains from Asenath gloves.



The offering here is to help increase clear speed (and bossing DPS).



BOOTS

Shaper boots with Ballista totem mod. Ensnaring Arrow makes monsters always moving (210% more damage with bleeding). You can cast 3 totems.





WEAPON

A bow with +1/+2 support will give Empower 7 (+6 levels) as well as boosts all support gems. The combination of gear gems and links gives level 32 Summon Reaper.

You can craft this with Essence of Horror to get the minion damage mod. Keep spaming until +1 gem. Then clear other mods and craft multimod, +2 support and minion ias.



Divergent Summon Reaper has increased cooldown recovery. It's very important for the Ultimate Slash.

Swap Predator for Phantasms for mapping



QUIVER

Rearguard is basically a shield for bow characters (gives a lot of block chance!)




AMULET

For the amulet, use Ashes of the Stars.
The most important stat is gem quality.

The anointment is Whispers of Doom for double curse.





RINGS

Profane Proxy lets you curse Vulnerablitiy automatically. It should be on the right side so you can still get shock aura.


Also need an unset ring




BELT

Use a stygian vise to socket a ghastly eye jewels.





RECOMMENDED FLASKS



Life: Instant Recovery when on Low Life + Bleed removal

Prefix: Startled, Frightened, Alarmed, Terrified, Panicked
Suffix: of Sealing, of Alleviation, of Allaying, of Assuaging

Utility flasks: Reduced charges or Increased duration
Prefix: Apprentice's, Scholar's, Practitioner's, Brewer's, Chemist's
Prefix: Investigator's, Analyst's, Examiner's, Clinician's, Experimenter's

Blood of the Karui (build is rippy so this instant heal is useful)
Quicksilver: remove burning
Quartz: remove freeze/chill
Rumi's Concoction (extra block)

14 I think.

You can get 8 from skill gem (lvl 25). It's possible to get 9 but you need lvl 39 from skill gem which sounds kinda hard.
You can get +2 from skill tree resulting in 10.

The rest comes from:
- +1 from Boots
- +1 from Helm
- +1 from Chest (Delve mod)
- +1 from Amulet (Delve mod)


+2 from wands (Midnight Bargain +1 skele count)


And is it possible to get level 39? :P I can just think level 34.

21 gem
+3 helmet
+4 (double +2 wands)
+1 amulet
+2 ascendancy
+3 Empower 4

Synthesized explodey 1-hands only costs ~10 chaos each though so it's not too bad. They're 15% each so you can get 30% from two one hands.
A two hand synthesized weapon is like 5 chaos.
(Not sure about the prices during league start though, but I don't think explodey synthesized implicits are a thing)

What's nice with the synthesized versions is that you can convert the explosions to any element you want, including fire. So if you stack them with a crusader chest you get 60% chance to explode which is enough for it to be really consistent.
If you also run Legacy of Fury on him he'll basically have a 100% chance to explode dealing fire damage which should be insane. What's nice is that you also can spend some time crafting them for huge damage mods.

Explode mods scale with added flat damage and % damage, in your case %phys and %fire. So you could just alteration roll for a high %phys increased roll(179% is the highest mod but very rare) since non caster weapons can't roll elemental %mods. Then craft 65%% fire and 25% chance to ignite from Bench.

From Alteration spam alone you could get ~360% increased phys and ~130% increased fire damage pretty easily which would make his Explosions deal insane damage. With some damage links and most minion nodes in the tree you're definitely looking at the explosions dealing more than 100% of monster life up from 10% which is the base.


So, actually I bought all the gear for making explodey AG last week :) 30% explode body was 3ex. I also bought 20% explode for 1ex.



My idea is to use Triad 4R so everything is fire damage. Not sure which permament minion to use yet, though! I'm levelling up a new witch to test this kind of build.

Btw are you sure about phys% on weapon for explosions? phys% is an 'attack' mod and also 'local' mod. So it should only work if it's a melee hit from the sword does damage.

I was thinking of just using essence of fear for general minion damage.

I also though it would be funny to use Vaal Breach for explodey AG could be main DPS for bossing

I guess 13 is my limit then because this build needs the Fleshcrafter on the chest and I don't want to use wands that reserve 30% of my hp.
Man I hope in 3.18 they either don't nerf Skeleton mages or they nerf it very little. I tried like 5 builds this league and I always come back to this build. It got decent clear, very tanky, easy and relaxing gameplay, killed all guardians, sirus and shaper with ease. I am scared of trying other bosses but I am sure it can do well vs them too

You are correct on the Phys mod, its local and only increases the weapon physical damage. It won't affect the explosion damage.

Fear Essence won't work either. AG does not get benefits from %Minion Damage from gear that he wears.

Your options are mostly elemental damage mods, like generic % Fire or Cold, and stuff like "Gain XYZ as extra Chaos Damage".

Hatred + 4G Triad will scale the snythesis explodey mod from AG.

You can also let AG dual-wield 2 Synth Explodey mod weapons for higher explodey chance.

Yes it's a great build, I did those and also Uber Elder and Maven.

The only ones that gave me more trouble but still doable were the maven inviations - forgotten and hidden. Both used 5/6 portals.

I'm quite sure I wouldn't be able to do the feared, that one would require some proper high end gear.

You can make a stronger bossing build without Fleshcrafter.

For example, my POB for normal Fleshcrafter (not +2 duration) is 2.8M sDPS.

I can get 4M sDPS without Fleshcrafter:
+2 duration tabula (cost 11c)
Elemental Weakness curse
8% elemental pen mastery
6L = skele, min damage, spell echo, predator, ele pen, crit damage.

Bosses will have -9% ele res. And because of white sockets, I can swap out 2 green (pierce/lmp) to 2 blue (predator/crit damage).

+2 duration Fleshcrafter can get 3.5m sDPS but it costs 35ex.

Oh whoops, yeah fear won't work. and I remembered bench craft fire damage is global and 54% anyway not too bad.

Yeah, I was thinking dual-wield vs Vic's charity. I think Vic's is better overall because AG can also give frenzy charges in boss fights.
