3.23 EXPLOSIVE ARROW BALLISTA ELEMENTALIST - League-Start to End-Game. Easy mode.

Hello from SSF player.

Was lucky to get Eye of Malice Callous Mask with +34% burning damage implicit (love those Vaal Temple maps with vesseles). And, hmm, PoB says it'w waaaay better than Ice Crown in term of DPS. What do you think? Wondering, if this mask in reality can breake our exposure mechanic of EE.

At first glance the mod Nearby Enemies have 50% increased Fire and Cold Resistances may sound unhelpful; however, it also multiplies negative resistances.[1]

For example, if a monster's Cold Resistance was lowered to -30% via sources such as Exposure, Frostbite, Void Beacon, and other methods, Eye of Malice's effect would cause that monster to have -45% instead. Note that this modifier affects the actual resistance (or tooltip resistance) of the monster; it does not affect by how much you reduce resistances with any given method. Conversely, a monster with 30% Cold Resistance will have 45% Cold Resistance instead. Therefore, it is important to stack lots of sources of Resistance stripping to get the monster negative.

Note that Penetration applies after this step; the Penetration value itself will not increase.

Playing this EA build second league and very happy with it.
Experimented on talent tree a bit with thread of hope and impossible escape. It looks quite strong. What do you think?
Another carry by the build to 40/40, love it. First time i play the same build in a row for me, that s how much i love it.

Congrats! Did you find it more painful to hit 40 this league like everyone was suggesting?

I just hit my End-Game Grind challenge of 100 Uber Kills yesterday... crazy :) I love farming these guys!

Both Thread of Hope and Impossible Escape can work. I've seen a lot of variations.

Some people taking accuracy using Thread of Hope, some taking mana reservation. Some doing ignite DPS with impossible escape, others with mana reservation, etc.

Just depends on how you want to build your character. There is no right or wrong or better or worse. It also depends on what content you are planning to do. Pro's and con's to everything. Whatever you gain with those jewels and points, you will be losing out with whatever you give up.

Interesting helmet!

It would be great for non-end game content where resistances of monsters can be made negative.

I would imagine once you do things like taking Height of Hubris etc then it's a really bad idea, because the enemy resistances will not be negative and you will just be making the content even harder for yourself.

For helm, any corrupted implicit with burning damage is amazing for DPS and will beat a regular Blizzard for DPS. The cost is that you have to run with whatever stats you have on that unique, whereas with a Blizzard you can craft the stats you want. I personally love Devoto's for 60+ Dex (giving Spell Suppression and Accuracy), 16% attack speed, Chaos Resistance, movement speed, and great armour and evasion.

Also, a double influenced Blizzard Crown is still the most DPS by quite a margin, so if DPS is what you are after then that's what you should go for.. but it's costly.

Hi! Your damage looks pretty decent already, but here's some suggestions I have from my personal experience (which may be wrong)

1. Drop the right side of your tree since you're already using clusters. (I used to also path all the way to Watchtowers but I realized dropping this gives a lot more points you can work with). Anoint Watchtowers on Amulet.
2. Get a Medium Cluster with Fan the Flames. This allows you to change your Ignite Proliferation gem to Awakened Elemental Damage with Attacks.
3. Path to Hired Killer for your life sustain. Add Harrier if you want more AS
4. Add Magebane for the losses to suppress damage on your right tree.
5. Add the Damage Over Time Mastery for increased skill effect. (unlike mapping, you likely want your explosive arrows to last longer so that you can stack more fuses)
6. Change from Wrath to Malevolence for the same reason as 5. (you can switch between Wrath for mapping and Malevolence for endgame boss)
7. Remove Faster Attacks from Frenzy (i dont think it does anything tbh). Swap with Blood Rage. (since your helmet has a Blood Rage enchant too)
8. Path to the Jewel Socket down south. Use a regular jewel until you can buy a Lethal Pride jewel that you can Divine Orb to provide these stats (20-40% increased burning damage, Ignites you inflict deal damage 10-20% faster). These depend on which notables you have pathed to.

For your POB, I also changed the Configuration Page to add:
a. Enemy was hit by Lightning Damage (this procs the EE)
b. Enemy Covered in Ash
c. Enemy Ignited
d. You Use Frenzy Charges
e. You Have Lifetap

Other recommendations:
1. Get a ring with Flammability on Hit, this allows you to have 2 more gem slots. (can drop Flammability and Hextouch)
2. Get your Dyadian Dawn belt with the enchant 30% increased Accuracy Rating while you have Onslaught (either buy it outright, or farm the belt Labyrinth), as your hit chance isnt 100% now.
3. Optional: Drop both your Granite Flask and Jade Flask for Cinderswallow and Atziri's Promise (but this loses you a defensive layer, just for more dps.)
4. Get a nice Watcher's Eye Jewel
5. Roll other eldritch mods on your armour and boots.

Neah they are just more time consuming, easy to do but very grindy.

huge thanks for this build. In the past I really didn't like ballista builds, but this one is a blast.
