What content are you doing?

I would at least use a single point and take Magebane to ensure your spell suppression is capped.

I guess the upside would be that I will be able to do no regen map mods.

If only I can squeeze out 11% more aspd so that I can drop that duration node. Its possible to use precision + mal watcher's eye without the clarity cost reduc, but, I would need enlighten 5 to have enough mana.

This is the issue I find with going the mana / mana reservation route... you have to really build around it and sacrifice other aspects.

Yeh squeezing those gems can be tough.

By not running hextouch, flammability, elemental weakness, clarity, precision you can also save 5 gem slots which could add some possibilities and flexibility.
