Dont forget you can swap elemental resistances with the horti-crafting station so you dont specifically need lightning for example.

I've been experiencing with spells for the Svalinn shield, and in that process I accidently removed my zombie gem from the body chest piece.

I ran five maps before I noticed. Guardian with Asenath's Gentle Touch is carrying HARD - the big pack "sand" explosions. I only discovered it when the bosses were taking about 3 times as long to go down.

So maybe there's something to gain in this build by swapping zombies to not have as many supports, and something else for the 6-link? I'm not at all good with making builds, so idk, probably a good reason it is the way it is :)

As for Svalinn, so far I like Ice Nova Of The Deep Freeze a lot with Purifying Flame for consecrated ground. With ele spells in all 3 slots, all will trigger independently of each other.

Body swap was good, as it removes you from immediate danger, but confusing. Voltaxic burst idk.

I've looked at a lot of active builds on poe.ninja, and I've yet to see anyone use spells in Valinn - just auras etc., which baffles me - it's so powerful with these triggers. Am I missing something?

Shield Charge has been busted and abused for years and I personally can't wait until they nerf it into the oblivion. That play style is cancer, but so many people are used to it now...ugh.

what do you have against shield charge being good? If you don't like the play style, just don't use it, problem solved.

Hey Hoffen, haven't upgraded to your mid game setups yet because I had covid and was in bed for like a week lol, but a question, will upgrading to mid game keep my zombies from dying to torment monsters/rogue exiles? ? So I took a strat via a youtube video that allows you get to get tons of Gold and uniques for dust by taking all the torment and rogue exile nodes, but OMG, the damage is insane and eliminates my zombies in every single battle. Even a couple of my spectres died. Basically taking all the torment nodes and running the titanic scarab and titanic scarab of legend. I mean I can't even raise the zombies fast enough because they die so quick lol. The funny thing is, I tried it on T5 maps and my zombies still got killed lol. I really don't know what the hell is killing them. So I'm hoping there's something in the mid game setup that will prevent this. I don't have anything yet in that mid game setup, no spell suppression etc.

Wanted to chime in, wanted a change of pace so decided on this as my 2nd character this league, so far it's been really smooth. I need some more levels but will transition to the mid Amanamu tree, already have the gems. I haven't even made my AG yet and already enjoy it (just yellow maps so far), once I get my hungry loop done will bust him out.

You want zombies to deal good damage as well so you dont need to summon skeletons in maps for example. The zombies will out damage any dmg gem support anyway.

The build does not really have open gem slots to put in any elemental spells, the trigger on the shield is basically worthless for this build. You wont do any significant damage since the build does not have any spell damage and our minions deal chaos damage.

If you added those gems then you removed other important ones.

The same can be said for other movement skills like leap slam/whirling blades. Shield charge is just more common because it needs a shield and perhaps easier to scale with faster attack speed.

You should start using the AG as soon as possible since it adds massive damage increase to your other minions and much improved clear speed.
The Early/Mid AG gear is very cheap as well.

The mid setup improves the survivability quite significantly for your zombies (around 20k more life) and even more life for your spectres & AG. But with that said tormented rogue exiles are very dangerous and not that friendly to do for permanent minion builds. (I can do it with my late/Beyond setup)
So avoid combining tormented ghosts and rogue exiles at your current setup.
You are basically trying to do a high end juicing strat with a 10d budget when using the early setup.
Try running full strongbox strat with beyond monsters instead for gold.
