anymore help or should i give up?

My best advice would be to switch to something like Ubuntu, the latest version is 'windows-like' as well, as it definitely has the ability to run Path of Exile.

i have posted on the play on linux fourms and i hope i get a reply from this stupid 404 error.

Thanks anyway :)
Good lord, Henry. You and the rest of the GGG team have a lot you can teach other companies about providing a service to us all. Thanks for everything ya'll do.

To OP. Sadly I don't have much to offer beyodn what others have already done so. But I do wish you luck.

I just want to clarify something that Henry said earlier.

I'm sure Mint will run PoE just as pretty much any other linux can run PoE once you get it configured. The problem is the configuration and setup part. Nothing in wine generally works "out of the box".

The problem here is that your distro of Mint doesn't seem to be working correctly as it doesn't seem to be able to properly pull the mirror server information. Switching to a more updated and popular distribution might help that as they generally keep their mirrors up to date and you don't get 404 issues for long (if at all).

So if you want to keep mint, you basically need to do what I suggested previously and fix your sources lists to use different (better) mirrors so that it can update properly. The other alternative as Henry suggested is to just use a completely different distribution altogether.

If you want to just install that version of curl, you can download it from this link and install the deb package similar to what you did with the libxml and lib32-libldap

Ultimately, the end result is that while that might work temporarily, there is a larger problem with your distribution, and googling around I found a lot of people with the same problem getting 404 errors in their apt-get in various versions of Mint.
