" I don't think it's a problem with the patch servers. Which download are you talking about? Have you already installed Path of Exile and you're talking about the Launcher downloading and installing the patches? Have you tried connecting to a free VPN and downloading while connected to VPN? Sometimes there are issues with someone's network, ISP, or firewall, etc.. and a VPN can avoid most of those. Instructions for configuring and connecting to a VPN can be found in the Consolidated Technical sticky post. In addition to the VPN, can you run a WinMTR trace to www.pathofexile.com while attempting to patch and see if you experience any packet loss or other problems. Post the results here if you get disconnected again, and we can look at the output and see if it shows signs of problems. Instructions for this can also be found in the Consolidated Technical sticky post. |

Why would I need a VPN or any other tools? This is the first game which causes such a problem.
I did not change anything. It downloads something but it is very slow. I jsut tried it many times and was waiting a few hours. This proves that there is something wrong with the patch server. If there would be a something wrong with my connection it wouldnt run at all. |

" Has it ever worked for you in the past? Your original post made it sound like you had an issue downloading/installing the game. Not updating. If my initial thought is correct, what does that have to do with other games? I'm not saying that your internet connection is down or having issues. I'm saying that there is something preventing you from accessing specific ports on specific servers, or it is dropping packets. Please do what I suggested. |

Hi there,
There's nothing wrong with the patching servers at the moment, as far as we're aware. There are a few potential fixes I can offer for your problem. 1. Depending on which patch you're downloading, it may simply be a really big one. We released one a few weeks ago that was more than a gigabyte in size. That'll obviously take a bit of time to download. 2. If you're running via a wireless network, I suggest connecting a cable while you're downloading. There has been a known issue where one of the most recent Windows updates for wireless network cards has caused issues for the downloader. There isn't much we can do about that one. I played this game already. I got a lvl 3. There was no problem before.
However the patching server has problems again and I can't download the patches anymore. It worked yesterday when I posted. The downloadspeed was 600Kb/s - 1.2Mb/s. It said 3.5 GB downloadsize I think. I got a 50Mbit connection. I should be able to download with a mcuh higher speed than this! Why does this game causes so many patching problems and why isn't there any full download? Give me an alternative download, please. Ftp, http, torrent or anything else. Can you please run a WinMTR trace while patching as I previously suggested? If it disconnects you, attempt to open the patch again, and once it's successfully patching, stop the WinMTR and post the results.

Privacy issues..
So does anyone know a direct download or could tell me why the download worked once and now doesn't work anymore? I don't have any trouble with other games. Why does this game cause so many problems? Are there also so many problems ingame? |
