Stop killing the skeletons and use a strapped leather and he shouldn't be able to kill you even through desync.

funny you should mention that...I was dual wielding and wearing strapped leather. died to nondesync, nonbuffed brutus anyways cuz he got a lucky crit smash that one shotted me from 80% hp...

got to lvl 17 as a witch and made it to inner halls 2, found an Amethyst flask in inner 1 that saved my skinn a few times...
