Do I need to spend 5 passive points to get the 3 prelim Pierce nodes + the 30% Pierce node to make Drillneck viable? I just got my last two ascendancy points and have no clue what to drop them in.
Rupture looks really good, because against single target bosses you kite and just dudes in general with high HP you do so much more damage, plus not worrying about dying with bleed up is good peace of mind. With TS, I don't think Endless Munitions is good, but I also don't know how valuable the one extra projectile is. Powerful Precision just seems ... absurd. I mean, for the five points I get 50% pierce, which I can then couple with the Pierce gem and Drillneck and my GPS would skyrocket?
Here is my current gear:
Thanks
Powerful prec is decent. the pierce effect is pretty strong.
TS itself has 100% pierce on form1. So will get drillneck, 100% damage, and powerful prec +100%crit.
Form2. Powerful prec's range is pretty far. 90% of your shots will STILL be getting 80-50% pierce at nearly offscreen, JUST from powerful prec. drillneck, peirce support, etc all just making that even higher.
The important thing here, is powerful prec makes hitting 100% pierce really easy. And if you have 100% pierce, ricochet is useless.
Ts and endless munitions. +1 proj is good. the Accuracy is also REALLY good. do not underestimate.
TS shotguns for extra proj is more single target and aoe dps. There is of course spread. and with 5 shots, only 3-4 on average will hit 1 target. +1 will probably increase that to 4-5. On any shot, I would expect 70% of shots to hit one centered target. GMp+Reach+endless+dyingsun...12 arrows.. maybe 9 hit.
Admittedly, I do question the value of ricochet for TS. Visually pretty. and I don't doubt how it tags stragglers, offscreen in dried lake clearing... but.. who cares? It won't chain through walls in Cells, etc. And, TS is an aoe powerhouse already. Who cares about 10% more aoe clear, against stuff that dies in one shot anyway? build power is measured in single target, vs bosses isn't it? Its a straight up liability in reflect maps, and atziri.
Hey guys - Would anybody with experience be able to tell me what I should be looking to upgrade next? I am currently doing fine on T10 maps, but would like to push on!

Interesting ... so you're bsaically stating that I can drop Ricochet and put those two points towards Endless Munitions, then also get Powerful Precision and I don't even need to get any of the Pierce nodes to maintain 100% pierce, which means with Drillneck my DPS is basically doubled? That's INSANE. But I'm not sure on these interactions because everything is phrased in a weird manner. So TS can pierce 100% of the time, but my character technically has 0% pierce, so wouldn't I get no benefit from Powerful Precision? Likewise, Drillneck would see 0% pierce chance and give me no benefit ...
To your point about chaining to things off-screen, I got super lucky with the Uber Lab enchant on my gloves and every few seconds my character shoots 180 degrees worth of arrows, even while I'm moving, and can hit stuff off-screen. It's great.
I'm still confused, if TS has 100% pierce by default, why does the guide say to get pierce nodes and that Drillneck is only viable with them? How valuable / vital is getting my bow 6L, which I don't have enough fusings for? Would I just take TS-GMP-PTL-PPAD-WED and then add Pierce to it?
In terms of the actual item, what is the best 6th mod to try and get? It looks like almost all of the ones available are corrupted versions and some of the 6th mods look totally worthless, like 2% to Chaos Resistance. But I don't know what it can roll.
Separate from this, what about the unique jewel to give 15% pierce and 10% damage? That seems like it's effectively 15% damage, 15% crit, 15% pierce from that, and then another flat 10% damage, which is insane.
On a totally separate target, it's possible to get .8% mana leech on an amulet, which effectively is two passives, just from that. I don't think the guide mentions this explicitly, but is this a good idea? I already dropped Essence sap a while back and noticed no difference in maintaining mana, and the only gameplay difference moving forward is some red maps that don't allow leech at all, so it's a moot point. But to get two passives worth of value out of one modifier in one slot that is already supposed to be a rare and not a unique, just seems too good to pass up.

I thought Chain was really good for TS. If we can just pick up Powerful Precision and get 100% increased projectile damage with Drillneck this is insane !
