Maybe it has been said already (too many pages since I last checked the thread) but I just noticed that with Arcane Cloak gem group all at 20/20 I can have Arcane Surge 100% of the time (AC duration + cooldown ~= AS duration).

So I was wondering: could the AS socket in Flame Dash be used for something else? I don't know if there's a useful support, so maybe a golem?

Righteous Fire?

Seconded, resoundingly! Once you have enough mana recovery on your gear to support it, you would be stiffing yourself by NOT running Righteous Fire (run a Vaal version for additional temporary buff). It's a clean 39% more spell damage, which is absolutely insane for us, and it's virtually at no cost because our build is perfectly made to support it. Just be mindful that reduced fire resistance from map mods DOES have an adverse affect on RF's burning damage to you, so don't turn RF on in maps with multiple layers of added damage (e.g. -#% to maximum resistances plus Elemental Weakness = a world of hurt). RF is essential for the harder bosses, in my opinion.

And yes, you're totally right that the second Arcane Surge is not needed once the Arcane Cloak setup is fully levelled and your passive tree fleshed out. To achieve reliable 100% uptime on AS, bind AC to left-click. I know I am a broken record on this point, by I cannot stress enough what a huge difference it makes to our QoL, as well as to our performance.

Also, is it better to get the shield node or that one first?

Killed A8 sirus deathless without the node the agnostic. It's perfectly fine to play on the highest difficulty without the agnostic. My gear is at most average as u can see in my profile.

That's not a decent helm...that is GG. I searched for that base for about a month with the helm enchant before giving up and just crafting an almost identical one without the -9. Congrats.

How much base manaregen do you have to sustain Righteous Fire?

Because RF deals a % of your life per second as burning damage, this actually depends on how much life you have. The more life you have, the more mana regen you'll need to support the additional mana taken via Agnostic. I think an important threshold is being able to run RF in your hideout and stay at full mana with no buffs up other than your auras. Owing to our ascendancy, Kitava's Thirst, and Arcane Surge, we have a lot more mana recovery than this while in actual combat, but I think of that extra recovery as supporting the additional mana needed for spellcasting and MoM.

My base mana regen without buffs (aside from Clarity) is 1500/second, which is enough to support RF with 3750 life and 9300 unreserved mana. Regen with additional previously mentioned buffs active goes up to about 5000/second. There are enough mathematical factors going into these mechanical interactions that I can't give you a straight-up formula, but it's easy enough to figure out if you can support it by just buying a lvl 1 RF from Lily, turning it on in your hideout, and waiting around for 30 seconds without moving or anything. If your life and mana stay topped off the whole time, I think you're good to try running RF.

Note: do NOT run RF without Agnostic; you will immediately regret it.
