Instance lags and overall lag spikes on EU

Up, Problem still exists. Still no fix
Same problem for me Constant spikes across all EU servers. I have no idea if its my Line because all my other online games do not lag what so ever.
Here's an update from me.

I got sick and tired of those lags every evening and decided to find what causes the problem and spent weekend googling this problem.
Surprisingly, found a solution on blizzard forums in tech and support section.

So, basically, what I did was:

1. Changed DNS in network settings to google's (8.8.8.8 and 8.8.8.4)

2. Did a selective start-up (I don't know if I'm allowed to link to competitors site, if not, please delete the link) https://us.battle.net/support/en/article/200483?utm_source=Internal-TechForum&utm_medium=Posting&utm_campaign=BlizzardCS&utm_content=solution

3. Created a rule for PoE in firewall (even tho it is disabled) https://us.battle.net/support/en/article/300479. Port ranges can be found in google.

I don't really know which step helped me (I think selective start-up was the reason), but after I did them all I was able to play without any lags on evenings, even in towns and after re-entering the same instance, ping became stable as it was before at around ~90.

Give it a shot, it helped me, could help you too!

Hi.

Great contribution.

I had the same problem with the aleatory lag spikes depending on the instance and I tried with the changing dns solution.

In network adapters, TCP Ip v4, disable auto detect DNS and use Google DNS (8.8.8.8 or 8.8.8.4). If u dont find it, you have tutorials in youtube.

I solved the issue for the moment (going to test several more days to confirm it).

Well, it worked for me yesterday but today I have the same problem again.

Depending on the instance, even in the same area, I have huge lag spikes or zero lag spikes.

It's really weird .

Ru, Saint petersburg, same problem. Two days play in slow motion, totally unplayeble((

Have the exact same issue, with symptoms exactly as those the OP very specifically described.
this is the only online game i have issues with, im also on EU gateways, normally i get 80-100ms, when this issue strikes i have inconsistent lag spikes and the occasional flatline that seem to affect some instances while others are smooth.

I had similar issues a long time ago (a year or so ago) that somehow got resolved, and since i was having mostly no issues like this.
tried the steps you suggested, unfortunately they didn't work for me, sometimes the lag spikes seem to be gone, but eventually come back.

cant play any meaningful content that prevents me from reseting instances every now and then (maps, lab, etc..), and sometimes even resets are not enough.

No...you don't, you almost certainly don't live in the same house, use the same inter net provider or even connect to the same server and even then the problem is likely to be entirely different since the thread is 10 month old.

So read the tech pinned thread, do the test they ask you to(while you play with the problem) and post your own thread please.

ouch, didn't mean to anger the forum gods, let me try to adjust my wording a little, i have the exact same SYMPTOMS described by the OP, ofcourse i cant know if its the same issue.
forgiveness please!

just wanted to piggyback on a thread that seems relevant to me, and add my voice to something that seems to be a problem experienced by others as well, cant be bothered to troubleshoot my game anymore, did it before, didnt help.
if thats unacceptable by your standards, respectfully, feel free to ignore.

And if you read the stickies, they tell you to exactly NOT piggy back on other people's threads. One thread per person per issue. And the stickies also ask you to post useful information (with directions on where/how to post it) so that we can help.

So, you can read the stickies and post what you are supposed to, how you are supposed to, or not. One way you are more than likely going to get some help, the other you won't as threads like this one filled worthless me too posts and no information get ignored by just about everyone.
