If they're going to completely ignore something like this, if nothing else it's very discouraging for anyone that may want to post suggestions in the future.

Except it hasn't really been ignored, I can recall a specific instance in which Chris used something out of this very thread when discussing the lab.

they have said that they don't usually respond to the threads in the suggestions and feedback forum but they do read it.
for this topic at hand though, they have said they have no intention changing it (except for making the normal lab may be shorter).

Too lazy to link, its one of the first podcast after the lab was added either perandus league or the next league where its mentioned.

Maybe I missed it, but I've never seen Chris say anything that referred to this thread (or other threads like it on GGG's official Feedback Forum).
Chris responded once in an early reddit thread with many lab complaints, before those posts got buried or deleted by the mods, and he's referred to the many e-mails he got asking for a different way to get ascendancy points, but he hasn't referred to threads here AFAIK.
Of course, he probably doesn't need this thread to know about the widespread unpopularity of the lab, and I doubt he pays it any attention.
