What exactly is "better items"?
More quantity? Higher iLvl? More maps? Something else?

On a related note, will enraging him only moments before he dies give me the better items or do I need to enrage him before the fight?

Previously the Retch, as a Slayer with Unending Hunger, the wiki stated it would work as a degen, wiki quote:

If Endless Hunger is allocated, then the damage will continue as long as the leech lasts, even once at full life. If combined with instantaneous life leech, then the total amount of potential leech is dealt instantly, including that above the player's maximum life.

Currently i am not dealing any degen damage, but i am dealing instant chaos damage if im actively dealing damage. Even if i am at full life.

Does the Retch as slayer now only deal instant damage but because of Leech not stopping at full life it works as if you had vaal pact for instant chaos damage?
