[3.0] Wand’s Guide to Wanding – Comprehensive Overview of Wanders
Bit of a noob question with the 4th link of kinetic blast, I agree that going raider/elementalist is the better version if you are going to be bossing, but for map clearing do your frenzy charges stay up with just the ascendency option? I have been running ice bite (since i have pierce until I respec), but after that is pierce still better that ice bite for KB?

pierce is essentially never as good. IMO you're better off specing into +2 pierce on the tree IF you path up that way yourself, and use a different support gem.
bosses only seem to be an issue with one shot potentials. with the crazy map mods you can get and stuff it is pretty crazy how much life you need to get before you stop getting one shot. i have 5,400 hp currently, with a lot of room for improvement on my rings, and yet i still get one shot here and there. its basically the only way i die, is one shot. its really annoying. so much so i've thought about specing out of point blank so i can keep distance to avoid such one shots. and they're almost never big telegraphed hits or anything. |

is it possible to change the passive tree´s, so its works for new update, especially for ascendant as it doesnt work with the new passive tree version... i would really like to try this build, just a newb asking as i dont know where to change things to make it work.

How many crit and edps rare wand must have to be better than Piscator?

" I'm not quite sure what you're getting it here, but it sounds like you're advocating spending ~5 passive points to free up a gem for kinetic blast so that you can replace it with something that does more damage. Kinetic blast is for clearing trash, and it doesn't need more damage. Even with a measly 4L in thunderfists, it's clearing trash several screens away despite point blank shot, in a one shot wave of destruction. Those passive points are much better off going into survivability or damage for barrage (an incidentally kinetic blast). I'd wager you bolster kinetic blast more with 5 passive points than another gem link anyway. |

" actually i advocate spending 3 passive points towards pierce, 2 of which is giving you 10% proj dmg each. notice how i said, and even capitalized IF you path up that way, which almost every version of this build should be doing anyway. it is no issue giving 3 passives. right now your KB clears great at low/mid tier maps, but higher tier maps do need more damage to one shot everything, and having a free support gem instead of pierce is a massive boost in that direction. you are only clearing trash, but 90% of this game is clearing trash. you will basically only be using barrage on unique enemies (beyond bosses, maybe rogues, bosses) so there is no harm in optimizing your KB as well. |

Would a taste of hate be an "end game" alternative for a basalt flask. Would need to roll a different antibleed flask though

" Even if you take Acrobatics, taking the pierce nodes is 5 points. There is no reason to do this. Pierce is actually decent for DPS, with a 19% MORE damage multiplier. You should have no problems 1 shotting trash even in T16 maps. IGN: Desreien / Wand / Science

" No. To run Taste of Hate instead of Basalt, you would need to roll your Quicksilver for bleed / curse. Also, Basalt is almost the same in terms of defense. IGN: Desreien / Wand / Science

" I can see now you're running a significantly different build on the passive side that doesn't touch the scion wheel of life, the useful resistance nodes, or art of gladiator (amazing attack speed and movement speed boost). I can definitely see how that would free up points for more options on the right side of the tree. I'm fairly sure nobody using OP's fully built build is having trouble running full tilt across high tier maps obliterating everything that's not unique, so it's probably just one of those beauty of choices scenarios. |
