Disclaimer: I have not crafted one yet, I kind of wanted to confirm that it works before posting anything. But I'm sure a lot of people have figured it out already and prices are tanking so they are going from 50ex+ to 25ex.
Edit: I have crafted a few the medium clusters which are going for 3ex currently, if you craft it yourself, should cost between 1-2ex or less.
You can still roll fire resistance if you slam Fire, unsure about the critical one however.

There are already 2 suffixes and 1 prefix before you augment fire. So there is only a prefix open and the only fire mod is raze and pillage.

The thing is seeds were so little and "augment" craft is rare too, but they increase the drop rate of the seeds so it might be easier now
