Interesting. Why do you think this? I don't think they will gut it, getting a good explody chest outside of harvest is reasonably hard imo.

Yeah, absolutely. Harvest is what made them accessible. But they aren't popular just because they are easy to craft.

The thing is, explody chest are an endgame upgrade to make all skills clear the same. It's very meta defining in the way that single target counts much more than area clear. Since you cannot beat crusader explosions for clear, you just play the highest singletarget skill. And if it's heavy strike, you'll see people play it.
This is a big game design problem for obvious reasons.

I really hope GGG will keep the mod, but tweak it in a way to doesn't make it perform as well on builds that do not scale it. I think it's fine for phys->fire chieftains, or hatred+taste scaling pathfinders, but having oneshotting phys explosions on some random elemental build...? I mean, at least there's huge downsides for wearing impulsa nowourdays (well... kinda).
That said, it's very possible GGG will just gut the mod. They are usually pretty harsh on nerfs like these (fortify support swords rip).

The question is simply: "will it be this league or later?".

But Explody chest is/was used by a lot of builds since a long time (since it's introduction). The popularity has nothing to do with Harvest. And I like to emphasize, outside of Harvest (which was a one-time ride as far as we know, it's really hard to get a usable crusader explode chest. You literally sacrifice your chest slot for one mod (2 if you use an Awakener orb). That is an acceptable trade-off, in my opinion.
Not to mention, it was far more easier to do a usable chest when the mod was a fossil exclusive affix. Even then it wasn't gutted, just reorganized.
I think this mod is in a safe spot.

On the other hand, I expect a nerf on Divine Flesh. That keystone ascended to a state, where it is literally in or should be in every endgame life based build, where the emphasis is on defense, be it ranged, melee, or spellcaster. It's relatively easy to get/ or cheap to buy). It is very overpowered if you can get that 88+ max chaos res, trivializing a lot of endgame content. Just too good.

We'll see, the balance manifesto is out in 1 or 2 days, hopefully, they don't mention any of the above :)

Thank you for creating and updating this build guide. I made one in standard and am enjoying it so far.

I saw headhunters fell in price, so it actually reached the point where normal people like me can afford them. I chose this build because it scales very well with headhunter. I'm super pleased with it and kind of amazed at it's RF abilities.
Obviously not league-start viable due to indigon. Could you play regular BV Pathfinder until you can start stacking the mana and you get the required unique(s)?

For sure. In the couple previous pages of this thread, there are discussions of league-starting with the build and playing without indigon.

It's not the most impressive thing in the world but it's viable.
Rip 16% of our elemental ehp from divine flesh nerf. That really sucks.

Thought they'd touch the conversion for a lower value, but no.
88% Divine flesh used to mitigate 25% of elemental damage taken. This was for a very heavy investment, since you still need to invest 5-6 gear mods for chaos res to reach this number, and a small cluster jewel.

Now, if we aim for 5% on the keystone +3% on cluster, we have 83% chaos res. We're now mitigating 16% of incoming elemental damage.

Going from 25% mitigation to 16% means we take 12% more elemental damage. Build's still good, but this is a very harsh nerf.
It's a big nerf, but most life builds got hit the same. At the end of the day, it's not like it was particularly easy to cap chaos res on this build without Harvest.

There's the option of stacking born in chaos twice and still reaching 90% chaos res, but there's also the option of just skipping divine flesh.

Saffells looks decent. A shield-less dodge variant also looks good, even more so in softcore

Edit: Oh yeah, vengeful commander nerfs are a bummer. Not the biggest deal, but I gotta say I don't feel like hatred+supreme ego is 100% safe from nerfs in tomorrow's patch notes. That would be really bad for the build, but it could happen.

If they nerf supreme ego but don't touch lone messenger I'll be very sad.
I was more thinking of just hatred. It's only amazing at cold conversion, but in that specific niche it's just abnormally strong
