Chrome Extension to detect recipes in your inventory
" That's pretty much what I had in mind for when i redo the loading code. I'll probably also put in something so people can select specific characters or tabs to load to make it posssible to refresh only the things you've been changing recently. The amount of data it loads at the moment is crazy. Chrome plugin for inventory/crafting: http://njs50.github.com/poe_ext/

I think it comes from items with affixes that include 2 mods (like, combined armour & evasion mods). Seem to me that the extension isnt able to differentiate - not sure if the read data would give an option to do so...

" That sounds about right. The extension doesn't get actual data from the PoE website, it basically captures the text from the tooltip and works out as much as it can from it. Ideally one day GGG will update their website to send actual item data to the browser instead of pre rendered html for everything. That would cut down on load times a heap and take out a lot of the guesswork. I guess they probably didn't plan on people having so many tabs full of junk. Just loading my page of gems in my stash is 1MB of data. The equiv of about 250 pages of text. all of which we have to go through to try and find useful hints on what something does. " it's cool ... love the plug-in i'm just a hoarder :( so i have like 6 or 7 mules because i just can't help myself. If the parts of a recipe are divided up on different mules then i don't find them. It's my own fault for not be able to stop collecting rares. lol. 7 stash pages and 6/7 mules full and counting ... |

" i'm up to 37 stash tabs now, all full. I think i'll buy some more once the new endgame comes out :p So yeah, once that happens i'll definitely have to sort out this loading :p Chrome plugin for inventory/crafting: http://njs50.github.com/poe_ext/

Noticed a new feature to request for smaller monitors, seem to be related to the latest additions in the inventory tab:
The menu has no ability to scroll, and now its so long, fits on a 19" only in near fullscreen view... is there something that can be done to deal better? An other thing that may be useful and nice, would be an option to also drag crafting report views to the clipboard. " If you make the window width narrower the menu will go into "mobile" mode, kind of annoying, but then you can access everything at least. Chrome plugin for inventory/crafting: http://njs50.github.com/poe_ext/

Updated so now you select the league instead of a character.
Added a "partial refresh" option. I'll probably add some option to repeat the previous partial refresh at some stage. It's probably worth doing a full refresh at some stage to clear out any old data. Chrome plugin for inventory/crafting: http://njs50.github.com/poe_ext/

Am I the only one who is completely opposed to this whole thing?
I thought the whole purpose of crafting was to offer another way of getting orbs besides farming. Since you have to invest a lot of time into farming, instead investing some time to organizing your loot and finding and discussing recipes seemed to me like a proper way of rewarding player for doing something. With this plugin you are not doing anything anymore. You don't even have to care or invest any time in anything anymore. " If people never cared to get involved into crafting, they should get no reward, I think that is a fair way. This plugin just makes it completely cheap and stupid. I enjoyed crafting a bit so far, but knowing that everyone else is just clicking some buttons to avoid all the work involed, took all joy away for me. Now I'd rather have no crafting at all. |
