Focal Point would be your next best choice if you're not taking Endless Munitions. Do note that legacy RotC is not exactly the highest DPS bow you can get as of this league, and that the build does not exactly benefits so much from additional arrows for single target (as opposed to traditional Ice Shot/Barrage builds).

Yeah I know but I only have 2 bow builds so I might as well use it :P. I think the void explosions benefit from the overlap of having a lot of arrows. At least it seems that way from the on-screen AoE. I might look into another bow and make an ice shot with barrage support in my alt-setup. But I really dislike barrage.

The main issue at that depth is zombie degen. You need CI for that or at least high chaos res. I don't have any apart from the Atziri's and it's pretty hard to get more with this build. It works well on non-zombie nodes though.

Only issue is end-game is expensive. and struggling to kill tough bosses, w low life and ice-shot / hydro damage (Need to position perfectly and dodge everything)

Expensive because;

- Health Pool is Item dependent
- Damage(Bow) Item dependent


- 2 Mod Watcher's Eye 10+ Exalts
- Hunter's Influenced Stygian Wise 2+ Exalts only Base
- Bow can be crafted but needs at least 5-10 Exalts depends on your luck
- Hyrri's Ire is OK, but I pretty much prefer Farruls with Life and constant Frenzy Power or Endurance Charges, and Aspect of the Cat rotation not bad at all
- Shaper Ring 2+ Exalts, with Assassin mark much more
- Boots with Elusive 2+ Exalts (not that necessary)
- Void Fletcher probably better at bossing, but quiver with life and resist good too

Until level 80-90 I was having fun with this build, after hitting T14-15 maps, you should spend sometime and generate currency for endgame

But play-style and build is so much fun even though died 200+ times already lol =")

Finished with the league. As a causal player I played this from league start to end.

First time crafting for myself, made a lot easier with your crafting section.

Cheers mate, it's why I put there in the pros & cons that it can be expensive to min-max, though it seems you're still dying quite often all things considering.

Your HP is not at all important so long as you can push to 4k minimum, because the main eHP is from mitigation sources. Your main source of damage comes from the bow, curse ring, awakened gems, void fletcher and Hyrri's Ire so it's not all that bad. If you want to push further than that then it's going to cost absolute massive amount of currency for quite a minimal improvements.

If casual then I'd say it's a success, depending on what end game contents you've managed to tackle. In case you're still interested in what your build can improve on:

1. Ticked some relevant boxes in POB to better reflect your DPS
2. Changed some gems to awakened gems in ice shot links.
3. Maybe balance your res to have abit more chaos resistance (Atziri's
Promise flasks, trade some other res for chaos, etc.)

Hey man, nice build overall, was trying this a bit on a 1st league starter and spent like 180c +-, starkonja was 1c, Hyrri's ire was 15(+5 jeweller's touch), 5L death opus which was like 50c, 20c on brutal restrain, 20c on lioneye fall, 10c for a life + res ring with cold damage and space to -7 mana, and 30c for the large cluster if i recall correctly.

that amounts to 150c and the rest was on starting items to level up faster, my review here is that is pretty decent, was running t9s on a 2.9k life ranger, i died quite little despite of that(i'm always playing facetank builds), clear speed is awesome, can't do ultimatums but breaches, blight and harbingers are a piece of cake.

Now one of the biggest issue here is that somehow i can not see how do you get mana leech on your build, and mana is being a huge issue when boss fighting, sometimes on a breach or legion encounter it gets ugly because of that.

I'll leave my POB here if you have any advice but a solid build indeed

Disclaimer 1st though, this is based on current league numbers and not accounting patch notes changes.

Ok here are some of the things you can improve on:
1. You're using the wrong amulet, you need REPLICA Hyrri's Truth for the Hatred mana reservation, not the original version. Then you can run Hatred

2. You should not link Summon Skitterbots to Bonechill yet until you got a helm enchant with reduced mana reservation for Skitterbots.

3. Your Herald of Ice should not be linked to any support gems that affect its mana reservation (currently your build is linking with Culling Strike which increases its mana reservation)

4. Your current gem level for Precision is too high, try to reduce until you get a decent mana pool while maintaining a 100% hit chance (and your Enlighten becomes level 3)

Doing all of the 4 above should allow you to manage your mana reservation better.

5. Mana leech is gained from Soul Raker (claw node under influence of Lioneye's Fall), path to it immediately.

6. Your Brutal Restraint jewel should've been left for later and tree should be focused more to path towards Shadow Tree area in the mean time. (Unallocate Flash Freeze, Weapon Artistry and Path of the Lynx and path towards Shadow tree first)

7. Voidfletcher

8. Higher roll of flat added cold damage on Hyrri's Ire

9. Curse on Hit rings (If Assasin's Mark is too expensive, get one with Frostbite temporarily)

10. The reason you're dying quite a bit is because you're still lacking 3 vital components of your mitigation (Enduring Composure from small cluster jewel for endurance charge generation, Wind Ward ascendancy skill and chance to blind from Claws of the Hawk notable). Once you get these things should be much smoother.

Definately appreciatte the feedback man,it seems that i messed up a bit in the skill tree lol, i'll try this tonight when i get some time, and probably in the new league, definately going for the replica hyrri's and the endunrance charge jewel, and for last i just want to say that you should keep it up this build is awesome even for people who doesn't play ranger too often.
So from skimming through the patch notes, will need to test actual numbers in POB, and maybe play this sometime this league. Maybe not actually league starting this though.

Things to note:
1. Actual gem links to use for Ice Shot (accounting support gem nerfs)

2. Maybe need to see how mana multiplier works for the build mana sustain.

3. CWDT setup post mana multiplier nerfs.

4. CWDT-Purifying flame setup post consecrated ground nerfs. Probably not worth using PF anymore.

5. Bonechill link to Skitterbots post mana multiplier nerfs. (may need to remove precision and use abyss jewel for accuracy rating)

6. Crafting section changes for budget crafting the bow post-Aisling nerfs.

7. Flasks nerfs.

8. Movement skill nerf using second wind. Maybe change to blink arrow?

Did some changes to accommodate build post 3.15 nerfs. Changes as below (also posted in 1st page):

Spoiler

1. Changed gem links from Added Cold Damage to Inc. Crit Damage (better DPS)

2. CWDT setup changed due to mana multiplier & Consecrated ground (from Purifying Flame) nerfs. New setup uses Inspiration (for reduced mana) and Frost Bomb

3. Only using Precision at lvl 1 (for Watcher's Eye flask charge gain on crit) due to Bonechill mana multiplier nerf (Instead accuracy is obtained from Abyss Jewel on belt)<<<Important

4. Flasks nerfs.

5. Movement skill changed to Blink Arrow due to Dash + Second wind nerf.

Overall the build loses around 33% of Ice shot DPS, as such it's important early mapping to get Voidfletcher to carry our single target DPS.

Thankfully we still maintain a good portion of our DPS via Voidfletcher shots, Culling Strike and Ice Shot cone overlap. which is not counted in POB. Overall the DPS loss is maybe <20%.


Will update the crafting section once I've played around with it in game.
