PoE 2 Illuminated Crown Notable BUG
" Due to Eldritch Battery, your helmet is providing 0 Energy Shield. 0 * (1 + 70%) = 0. It is not providing "ES converted to Mana converted to ES", because the game calculates all conversions at once, off the same base numbers. The "ES converted to Mana" by Eldritch Battery is not being converted to Mana by The Everlasting Gaze. Modifiers that grant "+% increased ES" don't care what the source is, so they will boost ES gained via Ghostwrithe or The Everlasting Gaze. |

" Those don't usually have any notable amount of Es. I wore a couple and recalled more ES, albeit... lack luster as additive on top after calculations... but that's what I expected of it. |

While this is "technically not a bug," it's obviously an unintended interaction.
The node should locally increase ES on helms, because that is obviously what it was intended to do. Yes, it "works this way in PoE1" as well, but in PoE1 conversions happen differently, so nodes like this would still provide value. Precisely because conversions are different in PoE2, gear-slot-specific passive nodes should apply locally. The exact reason they do *not* in PoE1 is PoE1 permits double-dipping. PoE2 does not. I think we can all agree that buffing other forms of tank besides ES-stacking is not something we exactly need to be "avoiding" in PoE2 right now. |
