Seems like I'll have to change the genre :(

Well I really love POE1 but I think the long wild ride finally comes to an end soon. Now my problem is that I don't like POE2 and I'd rather waterboard myself than play D4. Seems like I'm f...ed right? Is there any other ARPG that I might have missed? I think I played them all but who knows. I really want an ARPG that is FAST has some depth and isn't pay2win. Apart from that I don't care, does not have to be free2play and I would even pay a monthly fee so if you think there is a good niche arpg please let me know! Otherwise I think I'll have to change the genre. ;/

Yeah, seems arpg genre is in deep crisis.
Nothin new. And fun.. fun is not allowed by arpg fun police.

I jumped in to Skyrim with 1500+ mods.
That was fun and completely different game than was before. And really awesome on graphics and on. Sometimes old ones much much better than new release. Waaaay better!

Change build?

If you want something that have as much depth and speed as poe 1 youre not gonna find anything on arpg

Maybe you really should just change genre, if you just want gameplay and no story, and very fast and super complex... fighting games are there, but have basically nothing in common with arpg. Guilty Gear Strive for example is extremely deep and neck-breaking fast. Fighting games in general have tons of characters behind paywalls, but none are really pay to win outside the fact youll lack having the dlc characters on pratice mode to pratice the matchup but outside that, its more pay for diversity

It kinda sucks to go for blizzard, but similar-ish game with even deeper complexity and even faster than poe is starcraft, rts are another genre is crisis, but the classics are immortal

Chronicon maybe.
Masterpiece of 3.16 lore
"A mysterious figure appears out of nowhere, trying to escape from something you can't see. She hands you a rusty-looking device called the Blood Crucible and urges you to implant it into your body."

Only usable with Ethanol Flasks
Play Incredible Adventure os Van Helsing. Its not fast but it is fun and worth playing just for that.

Own them all, played them all, werent too terrible, but they just dont hold a candle to the D2 legacy , or even remotely to POE. In fact, imo, not one of the ARPG's suiting this genre released over the years come close to what D2 and POE brought to the table in their times.

Its just too bad GGG believes anything poweful needs to be gates behind bot / rmt drop rates...

It is what it is.
GGG - Why you no?

Yeah i get it PoE is really good and other games just dont keep that pace.

Altho IAoVH is great game for one time. And maby in future for nostalgia. It has many fun moments and things inside. Also preferred original build not the Final Cut but still it works.

After getting indoctrinated into the PoE 1 environment, it's VERY hard to find an ARPG that can live up to your expectations. They are either too shallow (not enough specialization/customization/freedom of builds), too slow or lacks an interesting endgame you can sink your soul into.

I've tried them all during my several breaks from PoE 1 over the years, and not a single one of them comes close to fulfilling 10% of what PoE 1 offers IMO.

D2 Resurrected and Last Epoch are probably the only two ARPGs other than PoE 1 that have given me more than 30 hours of fun the last 10 years.
Sometimes, just sometimes, you should really consider adapting to the world, instead of demanding that the world adapts to you.
