Game crash 0xc0000005

The game crashes intermittently, roughly every 30–60 minutes. The application simply closes to desktop with no in-game error message.

What I have tried (no improvement):
Setting all graphics options to the lowest quality
Rolling back to previous NVIDIA drivers
Limiting FPS
Disabling CPU core 0 for the process (via Task Manager → Details)
Running in windowed and borderless modes
Disabling all overlays (Steam, Discord, NVIDIA, Xbox Game Bar)
Disabling Windows Game Mode/optimizations
Setting NVIDIA shader cache size to Unlimited

Details:
Crashes occur more frequently while playing in a party
The game often crashes after ~30 seconds of being alt-tabbed
No similar crashes occurred in previous leagues

Also:
I have seen multiple reports from other players experiencing crashes while using Wolf Form and i am also using Wolf Form. However i didn't see them providing those errors.

So it was because of Wolf form?!

I crashed yesterday like 5 times and it was just like you said every ~30 minutes, mostly on some unique/boss. Also playing Druid on Wolf form

I cleared Event Viewer after rolling back Nvidia driver but im 99% sure it was same exact Application Error.

Prior to playing POE2 this league my PC ran without any issue, even other supposedly heavier games no problem. These past months im always on latest Windows/drivers. Even recent Windows 11/Nvidia drivers updates didnt break anything. On 0.3 i havent had a single crash but i was on W11 23H2 back then which wasnt affected by them like 24H2 supposedly was.

But now POE2 started crashing like crazy and my headache didnt stop at crashes, i even started having brief blackscreen on monitors after pc boot and other GPU related error in Event Viewer today.

I was on the same drivers etc for 10 days and everything worked fine but its like POE2 broke some shit in my PC that its not even related to the game anymore...

And im seeing similiar posts that this new patch is making people's PCs unreasonably hotter/draw more power than anything else

My GPU is already susceptible to potential power cable melting (whole nvidia 5090 fiasco) and im scared to go back playing and testing things after rolling back couple drivers if POE has potential to damage my shit lol
Exactly the same crash as OP, in wolfform, on unique bosses (mostly, not exclusively)

I've noticed that 7/10 times, its when I Pounce.

Also wolf Form, I see a stutter then CTD
Not sure if related to this issue, but I found out that when using the crown of thorns unique helm and "killing myself" with skills while in wolf form will cause the game to crash to desktop, but it only crashes when in wolf form, not when in bear etc.
I just had another crash.
The game freezes up for a brief moment and crashes straight to desktop without errors.

I had my HWiNFO up on my second monitor and there's nothing strange happening with the pc. No spikes of any kind, usage is far from high and the temps look good.

I pounced into combat and used cross slash and something triggered the crash once again.

I have a 4080, 9950X3D, 64GB RAM with all the latest drivers and bios. Windows 11 is up to date.
I'm also crashing playing wolf form, using pounce + shred mainly.

I can confirm with my own testing that every crash I've had today was related to wolf form, And specifically using pounce. It will work fine many times and than it will crash the client. I had no issues using bear for 2 days.

I'm experiencing similar via BSODs, but the error that gives isn't the same. It links back to game EXE in Event Viewer, but not always. My most recent BSOD was 'MEMORY MANAGEMENT", but the error has been different in previous screens. This one left NO Event Viewer log entry about the crash.

I've crashed inside and outside of Wolf Form, as I only switched recently, but this didn't affect crash frequency at all. No performance issues leading up to my crashes (stutter/lag). One Event Viewer case still listed the game EXE, but also kernelldll.dll, but that also hasn't recurred.

Windows 10 LTSC, 22H2
4090 / 7800X3D

I'm running DX12 because Vulkan hangs in a loading loop. I've crashed on older and newer Nvidia drivers, so I'm reluctant to pin this on a driver issue. I could roll wayyyy back to the 566.XX and earlier era (had to do this to stop Unreal Engine CTDs for a while).
