Which ability scales best with cast speed and spell echo?

Flame Blast, certainly. Because castspeed also scales its application of AOE.

This is probably the reason, why spell echo is deactivated for flame blast.

I give my 2 cents to the ball lighting here. Knock back gem is a waste, since there r jewels now. I played knock back ball lighting in 1m and jewels were enough. But what's more important, u can get tons of increased dmg/cast speed on tree and gear, but multipliers r very hard to come buy there. However with support gems, multipliers r easier to get and echo paired with penetrations(as raics mentioned already) r the best.

While also ur approach kinda defeats knock back and diminishes it's effect greatly. More hits = more knock backs = more hit = more dps. And there is no better thing, than spell echo for more hits.

Srs scales well with cast speed/echo.

Echo is good with SRS. Not so much Faster Casting, even though cast speed is important.
