Cyclone!

Even without Increased Area of Effect (imo, Cyclone should only hurt what it touches, and Range 4/Standard heavy-strike range should suffice!)
you can STILL become a Living Piety Ball of Thunder, with Added Lightning Damage, Elemental Proliferation, and while yer at it, why not add Added Cold/Fire as well!

Elemental character + Static Blow + Elemental proliferation OK

Added lightning/cold/fire NO, because small damage effectiveness, probably around 50% (I think so)
inb4 kripp breaks the game with this skill

Do not forget that you cause an Elemental Effect when you crit as well, it's not just damagebased. :)

So those gems could support some of the higher crit-builds as well.

i rly need to know how attack speed movement speed and area of effect works with this skill to plan a true wwbarb in poe

One might assume that the Cyclone has a base spinspeed, that can be increased by IAS from Weapons, Nodes and Gear/Gloves etc.

Maybe diminishing returns on the IAS to not make it too OP.

Regarding Movement, the Cyclone moves faster the higher movement speed you have.

It looks like the Cyclone's hitrange seems to be around 4-6 (close melee where you need to be close to do damage) and not Cleave/Sweeps range of 20.

The cyclone needs to be up close and personal to do the damage.
Increased Area of Effect will probably do wonders for it, but then again so will Concentrated Effect as well.

With Added Lightning Damage, Elemental Proliferation, Increased Area of Effect, you'd turn into your own Piety Lightning-Tornado-Ball of Fury, shocking everyone in your path! :D

In my humble opinion, cyclone use mana when you CHANGE DIRECTION, spining always in straight line, similar to Diablo 2 whirlwind but you can change direction.

AoE will not work, lightning damage + el proliferations seems like good idea for elemental characters.

^I think your right baout the change of direction. By changing direction, it appears to be a new cast of the skill that consumes the mana.

In D2, the WW mechanic was that it will move in a direction for a set distance for a fixed amount of mana. But when holding it down and hovering it over several directions, it will consume the mana much more rapidly, which I think GGG used the same concept for cyclone.
Love the look, love the concept, love the cyclone shop skins, love it, love it, LOVE IT!
I invested in this Axe today in hopes cyclone will be better or atleast on par with groundslam. Really looking forward to testing this skill out.

I don't see the damage effectiveness being sub 60% if the range is low like around 5 considering cleave's range is 20 with 70% effectiveness and if thats the case cyclone will plainly suck since you wont be able to shock stack. What I really want to know is how it will work with DW if its going to strike with both like cleave or alternate or something else.
This will probably be cool with Quicksilver Flask and Increased Area support gem. Get some kiting action going in there.
