[3.16] Coldslinger | Vortex | Creeping Frost | League Start | SSF | CI/LL
Question: Has anybody tried Cold Snap instead of Creeping Frost?
We would get frenzy charges, better AOE and access to Vaal Cold Snap which is a nice defensive and offensive tool. Might play around with that tomorrow unless there's something I'm not thinking of. livejamie

Personally I find them interesting, altho it will probably become less interesting after the first few days when upgrades become scarce, e.g. you may wanna switch to a different schedule once the updates become slower.
I have tried Cold Snap instead of Creeping Frost, as I had the same idea, but sadly, Cold Snap cannot expend Frenzy Charges when triggered using Spellslinger (which I wasn't aware of until I tried it), so your clearspeed actually takes a fairly significant hit due to its cooldown, which the Frenzy charges and bigger AoE cannot make up for imo. Could be a preference thing. Última edição por Inkaflare em 18 de jan de 2021 09:15:00

Sorry to ask a stupid question but.. I'm struggling so much on finding a build this league, spellslinger fascinates me and I've never looked at Occultist! How does this build perform at endgame? Or is it just something for league start? I'm looking at mapping and bossing obviously :)
At the moment I'm playing Bladeblast Assassin but I find it rather irritating to play, its not my style! |

I hardly post here so I dunno how to multi quote etc.
I had Cold Snap in place of Creeping Frost yesterday and it seemed good. A lot of uptime on Frenzy Charges although I couldn't really tell the difference to be honest. I haven't loaded my character into POB yet so I don't know the damage differences so I'll do that today. Whichever seems to give most damage i'll equip. Also, I had Hydrosphere in my trigger wand yesterday as well, in place of Frost Shield. I don't hugely like Frost Shield as it seems to make me less tanky. ES constantly going up and down with the 500 odd damage it does to us. But Hydrosphere is a bit clunky in the trigger wand. It only (re)casts every 3rd time it seems. So it's not really following you pack to pack, more like every 3rd pack. I guess it's nice but yeah, not sure. |

" I'm using it in a totally separate Elementalist build. Hydrosphere can't be used in this build- the Frostbolts will cause it to Freeze and mess up EE when it pulses. I've been going back and forth between using Hydrosphere as a main skill or as a support skill. Using it as a support skill in a lightning build is SIGNIFICANTLY stronger than using it on its own. " Take a look at some of the youtube videos, it'll give a good idea of what the play style is like and what you can expect with a similar investment. BF/BB is much stronger than this build with similar investment, but I find it incredibly clunky to play. Coldslinger: https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/2797749

Playing with two frozen trails does significantly increase clearspeed, i can recommend that :-)
Also do not forget flasks, taking Rumi + a basalt flask into action improved survivability a lot. But thats no big news i guess :D |

" Yup, I dropped profane bloom and added a second frozen trail and My clear felt a lot better. On another note, two questions for more knowledgeable players: 1.- Tips on how to craft wands and amulets using harvest? I didn't really play during harvest so I'm kind of lost. Any tips are welcome. 2.- Is there ever a point when dropping glancing blows is worth it when using rumi's and maybe some block on jewels? |
