Why have you stopped playing?

One reason I can see myself quitting... the wall that is 3.x Cruel. I've yet to get any one of my seven characters through it.
Stopped playing because I'm at work.
Will continue playing when I get back home.

Does it answer your question?

hit a wall in cruel? 0o

my very first char made it up to maps. it was pain to do a colonnade with it but still ...

7 chars all stopped in cruel? i dont get it.
Abysmally low drop rate of currency, coupled with no crafting system to spend those few orbs I have on...

I make a new character or three and then play full-on for a couple months. After I get bored I give the game a break for a few months so that GGG can add more skills etc.

Never quit but almost all of my friends have. Desync and poor drops.
Crafting doesn't exist in POE. Gambling does...and the house always wins.

Velocireptile - I LOL'ed. Which made me fart. I wish the office were empty right now :(

Hardlicker - I had to push the dog out of the way so I could get to the sexy quilt.

one doesn't simply quit poe , one just takes long breaks when the frustration builds up.

time to vent is time well spent in regards to personal health
Got a dedicated starbound server up and running. Probably gonna spend a little time on that. I'll never "quit" PoE though. I just take breaks. I need some variety every once and awhile. Man cannot not survive on arpgs alone.

This is one of my criticisms of the game that highlights how much easier to pass the gear wall through trading instead of playing with one's own drops.

I stopped playing because farming Merveil/catacombs drove me to tears of boredom. ARPG's without progression are fun-killers for me. Besides, Steam had another great winter sale so I stocked up on games I have put off for so long. I might eventually come back to POE, but with the league ending soon, it kills my motivation to play. I don't want to have to keep trying to progress in standard with its incredibly screwed up economy, and starting all over again with a new character/league just to hit another gear wall is not enticing to me. It's why I stoppped playing D3.
