I played 3.9 Metamorph, returning to PoE for the first time since 2013, and I ended up using this build to get back into the game. It's an excellent build for anyone who is starting out, that will take you into the endgame with a minimum of trouble or fuss and give you the opportunity to learn a lot of PoE's complex endgame without being a victim of that complexity. I'm going to change it up and try something different for 3.10 Delirium, but if you're in a position of coming back to the game and looking for a build that's fairly safe and simple but will get you some fun experience, this is a great choice.
Thanks Seraphgrim!
That's very kind of you. I appreciate the post a lot. I'm glad you liked it last league and I hope you have a great league start this league! (Your cheque is in the mail ;).)
I appreciate it. Thanks :).

I'm wondering, why do you create a new thread, if you have already older versions of the build, where questions were asked and answered?
Why the hassle with that all over again?
Just edit the previous build guide, and if you want a snapshot, do it in a reply or so as quote or what ever.
Just saying.
Hey eviL_Bison!
I create a new thread each league for a couple reasons:
- So that questions and guide replies are ALL 100% relevant. Some people do like to read all the posts. It's annoying to need to scroll through pages when you're dealing with 1000+ pages.
- I get to see how many clicks each league got. (This helps to see which titles were efficient and which leagues cared about which builds.)
- It gives me an opportunity to keep my previous guides which helps when comparing how guides look, are laid out, and it makes editing previous content (and re-doing current screw-ups) much quicker and easier. It's like a backup that serves as more than a backup.
It's more of a convenience than a hassle for me.

So how are we getting mana with this? Using the three auras I can cast one bladestorm and that's it, and that's with the life an mana leech node taken.

What I do is early on I use MANA FLOWS right at our starting position until I no longer need to use that node (equipment etc...)

Mana leech is utterly busted in this game and can never be repaired because of the simple reason that damage out-scales mana costs by several factors.
Even with (somehow) 0.001% mana leech, as you power up your attack the mana gained by a single attack would be higher than the mana cost-and once you hit that point, mana becomes a non-factor.
Hey banthom (& Yipp & boomwolf)!
boomwolf brings up a decent point. The only reason I have just 1 mana leech node is that when you start dealing enough damage, this node will be more than enough. It doesn't take long to start dealing that damage but set your expectations (unless you get an amazing weapon to drop while levelling) that you'll need a mana flask until the end of the campaign. But the mana should come "flying" in with a 4 link Bladestorm and a decent weapon.
Oh, also, just don't have all the auras active until you are getting your mana leeched back in full.
Does that help?

This build also have +40 mana on block, so that sustains mana quite well in an actual fight.
Wrecker, you forgot to put the 3.9 build in the build history (though I can't actually spot any differences)
Still tinkering with a variant that drops the ranger nodes...not sure if its better or worse...(less raw damage and HP, but more armour, fortify boosts, resists etc.)
Thanks boomwolf! I did forget to edit my Build History sections in all my guides! I appreciate it! And good call on Mana per Block!

Wrecker, thank you for creating/keeping your builds, I really appreciate how they make the game so much more enjoyable. As an old slowpoke, that makes a huge difference to me.
Now, after over 9000 hours in LibreOffice I have all that I need to face the new league...
To those asking about mana, how about picking up either Spirit Void or Essence Sap notables? A ring with 50% increased mana regen barely made any difference when I tried to spam Bladestorm, but a sword with a little mana leech was noticeably more efficient.

In case someone's interested in the mentioned items...
Hey EliotMess!
That's very kind of you! Thanks for being so kind. I really appreciate the message! I'm really glad my style of play suites yours. It's a pleasure to help. Thanks for the encouragement!
Awesome picture! That's Preparation! Great job! I think that's awesome. :)

'Allo, Me again. I played this build last league and plan to again, it is a great one and as they didn't touch it at all this patch (Poor necros.), it should be good to go again!
Posting as I remembered that I made a video of this build killing Awakener, I'll link it behind a spoiler to not clog anything up:

Leaving that here in case anyone wants to see what the build looks like endgame against the final boss. Not the best video in the world (I do die once by just standing in a mechanic), yet should be a good example of how ridiculously hard to kill this build becomes.
I'll post my progress/gear/build changes a couple days in just in case it might help folk. Thanks again Wrecker_of_Days!!!
PS: It was only my second time ever seeing that fight so I do flail around a bit :x.

Hey ElementalNimbus! Thank you! It's good to see you. I'm glad you liked the build! I love it.
Thanks for the video! And awesome job! That battle is tough to learn! So great job, no matter the build you used!
I look forward to hearing about your progress. Thanks again for the kind words of encouragement :).

Since servers are down for a while, I'd like to show a little mana leech testing I did. Just switched the ring and sword from my previous post so no interference would occur from theirs mana regen/leech.
The weapon I used have a nice physical damage bonus but no attack speed mod at all. Would an inverse situation affect the results adversely?
Spoiler
Spirit Void results: rarely lacked mana hitting groups of mobs and single target (rare, unique, boss).
Essence Sap results: literally unable to run out of mana when hitting groups of mobs. On single target fights it rarely occurred.
TL;DR: while not perfect, these notables helped a lot with mana replenishment.
