[3.21] Aegis Incinerate Elementalist - Tank with over 10mil Shaper DPS!

These probably won't be my final gloves but they solve a lot of problems for now and the implicits may take me a long way

And I got to 96. Right about that time I stumbled on the 1st Harvest boss and it didn't drop the T4 loot... 550k monsters killed and specced into Harvest from the very start. Sigh, can't believe it's not even a guaranteed loot from such rare encounter.

Running all 5 auras is awesome!! I can see them on in your video. However when I download your character into POB, it says you can't run them. There must be something missing in the POB that is not allowing for more mana reservation.

Poe ninja did a character snapshot at exact time when I was redistributing my passive points, lol. I have 2 points unspent there, that I'd put into the small cluster that is already on the tree.

And thank you for the ring suggestion, got like 3 different ones to test things out. Also got Large cluster for Arcane Adept to trigger surge passively. Kinda want to get rid of Arcane Surge gem because it annoys me lately due to even lvl 1 Adept Surge requiring more mana spent than even lvl 21 Flame Dash with all the -mana cost rings I'm running. I'll just slot Vaal Haste instead for 1 more active alongsides Frost Bomb. Or maybe I should ditch Frost Bomb and have a 3-link: Vaal Haste-Molten Shell-Increased Duration hmm.

EDIT: just did exactly that, Haste went from 4s to 7s and Molten Shell from 3.6 to 5.85s in duration.

Also didn't think about % block corruption and nabbed one double corrupted shield for 1 div:

worth I think considering how long it will be till I get to Aegis now that I'm at 0 divs again.

I also tested in PoB:

Spoiler
Malediction (forbidden flame/flesh) jewels and damn, my bodyswap Incinerate went from 3m to 3.6m DPS. Although the DPS numbers didnt change at all when I removed Combustion from the Flammability link so the actual change maybe not that big but still looks like a great jewel combo if you slot elemental weakness instead of Combustion after you get the jewels. And you also get more survivability via 10% less damage taken due to Malediction. But those will cost a bit more than Aegis even so idk if I'll get to them.

Beautiful!! I have that exact same Increased Duration link and it is great. It makes a big difference. I am still hoping to find more Dex to raise my Vaal Haste level.

I may be wrong but I think if you want to see the effects of Combustion on the build, you have to make sure you have the "ignite" configuration enabled. I believe all we get from Combustion is the 25% chance to Ignite when Reckoning procs.

If you are going to invest in Malediction, you want to have dual curses. If you don't have room in the sockets for Elemental Weakness, you can get it as an implicit on the Anguish ring.
Got my atlas to 115/115.

Next up are grabbing 2 voidstones.

Why is this in the templar forum???

For 3.19 we feel that Elementalist will be the strongest. It has been the strongest in other leagues for us and we think it will again.

Is there anywhere you go over why this is the case?

Last time I tried this build as witch, I felt way way less tanky and always found my self falling back to templar.

And do you think it is still feasible to play this as templar now?

Searching through forum threads take heaps and heaps of time. If there were a FAQ section of sorts, that would be awesome. I appreciate all the work put into one of my most favorite builds thus far.

* Inquisitor is much tankier than elementalist.

* I have played almost every version of this build over the years and IMO, the strongest version was Inquisitor using Leadership Price and crit. You got the best of both worlds, damage and defense

* But once Brittle was nerfed to the ground in 3.19, the ability to use crit on Inquisitor became SIGNIFICANTLY more difficult and ultimately resulted in a large loss of damage.

* As such the current version of Inquisitor has very low AOE, very low damage and excellent defense. We feel that the current Elementalist is so much stronger offensively (huge AOE, and more DPS) that it is easier to play with than Inquisitor, especially in soft core.

* I think if you were absolutely tied to Inquisitor, you could make it work. I doubt you will ever have the DPS needed to do any of the end game bosses or going deep into simulacrum, but I don't see any reason why you could not make a viable T16 version with some investment.

Thank you for the very speedy reply.

I'm just tired of randomly getting 1 shot in this game without investing every piece of my soul xD

I mean I pulled up the PoB for Ele there and seen a 300k+ eHP and was like woah, with 10m DPS

Compared to Inquis last league at 280k eHP and 14.7m DPS. Convert the tree to 3.19 and nothing changes, so I guess these numbers are still achievable, but considerably harder?
edit: I'm guessing PoB needs to be configured correctly probably for changes

Decided to go all in for unique drop sextants/scarabs and dropped Aegis on 2nd monster on the 1st map I've run with that setup. Never did I see the payoff coming so quickly, lol. Once I switched to Aegis, I also bought decent megalomaniac with Conjured Wall and Mage Hunter, though ended up needing only one block node from it. EDIT: and then almost imediately removed said megalomaniac and instead swapped my Large Cluster to Mage/Hunter/Essence Rush/Arcane Adept one.

Also, did another impulse purchase:

that cost me 8 divs (all I had on me) so I guess I am saving up for Malediction jewels now. After that I will finally upgrade from my 40c (excluding eldritch currency rolls) gauntlets and then go for empower lv 4 and awakened elemental focus.

I've also been thinking about if I want to path to Threads of Hope jewel location, but decided it's not worth it if I want to keep Asylum (chaos res / curse res nodes) and nearby jewel socket. Especially since I plan to use two ascendancy jewels (soon tm) it'd probably be better to invest 8 points into another Large cluster for 2 notables and 2 sockets.

Can you share the PoB for the inquisitor version? I'd like to see where's that DPS is coming from.

Hi guys,

The DPS in 3.18 for Inquisitor was based on Brittle. Brittle was nerfed significantly in 3.19. You will have to adjust the brittle level in the config to see the 3.19 version of the DPS.

And then you also need to take into account that the AOE on Inquisitor is smaller (this won't show up in DPS numbers but does effect game play)

Please note that EHP is a very late end game number after LOTS of investment.

Also while EHP is very important, it is not everything. One of the big reasons that Inquisitor will feel significantly tankier, even with a smaller EHP, is the games damage to the players has evolved in recent leagues.

There are currently SIGNIFIANT amounts of ground degen in many different forms. DOT is the great enemy of the Elementalist, even with its high EHP. The Inquisitor is probably the best class in the game at mitigating the DOT from the ground degen effects.
