What shield may I use instead od Aegis Aurora(before I get it)? Rare with which nodes? Or maybe some unique?

We have been using this Unique shield before Aegis (look for this specific corruption)

If you can't find this, use a rare shield with at least 30% block and then any stats that you might need (life, armor, resists etc)

Aegis looks like it is finally starting to come down in price. It peaked at 20div (for a low roll) a few days ago but has slid down to 15-16 div as of today.

It is still a ton of cash but I expect it will continue to drop a bit as the amount on sale is growing every day.

Emperor Vigilance is an amazing shield pre-Aegis, can confirm. I wasn't too bothered by the lack of 30% on uncorrupted version even as armour/es values are still pretty big, not to mention the amount of spell block % + glancing blows that enable you to spend passive points in other places first or get rid of Tempest Shield easier/sooner if you want to go Purity of Elements (highly recommended IMO).

Meanwhile I got 98 level, did some last tree adjustments and got the ring (10c ring + 110c on catalysts):

instead of my older one that had -3 mana cost and +16% fire damage as implicit. I think 9% HP (+165HP for me atm) is worth it. Staying at 4m DPS and 634k eHP (453k with no Molten Shell) now and can finally concentrate on gems. I Though gonna stop with no lifing and slow down the pace a bit.

EDIT: Oh no, I just realized I can save 1 passive point if I upgrade from Enlighten lv3 to 4 too. But I leave it for last.

Still had some opportunity for plenty of PoE today and managed to do a lot:

1) Failed 3 temples to upgrade Divirgent Incinerate, though still ended up using 23% quality one as it showed better numbers in PoB. Also bought / upgraded to Awakened Elemental Focus lv 6 and Empower lv 4, courtesy of the first currency explosion (911k kills in, 3x Divines, 6x Ex) and yes I did have 60% rarity gold flask on me + I was running 120+ base quant corrupted map with a sextant that adds quant bonus to rarity. And yes I still hate how such swings are tied to literally one in a million encounter.

2) Researched and tested/bought quite a few sub-50 chaos Megalomaniac options and 1 divine one (with Master of Fire) to fit both of them. Love both of them enough to use all nodes on both. Got some decent 220+ life regen and more importantly 100+ mana regen as the end result, ditched life flask.

3) Seeing that insane mana regen made me thinking - bought Anomalous Bodyswap lv 20/20 (lv 30 on me) and manage to sustain it well, the PoB doesn't show of an increase in DPS from it (~300k or less DPS from bodyswap) but in reality the change felt almost as impactful if not more than when I changed. And it's not just because of more % corpse life damage (~9%) - single target DPS also felt on practice very noticeably higher. This is the first time I thought PoB doesn't show correct (overall) increase in DPS but maybe I'm tripping though.

4) In lieu of the above it might be the time to retire Asenath gloves soon. The dps and bodyswap explosions upgraded to such a degree that there's not much of a benefit from them. I do like that double corrupt on them, but exposure / unnerve and actually capping res without flasks are looking more and more attractive again when the clear is already "solved".

5) So I still have plenty of goals: successfully corrupt Divirgent Incinerate, get good rare gauntlets and Enlighten lv 4 and then get +4 to relevant skills amulet as the last upgrade if I still have it in me to farm that much.

P.S. Suffice to say the character I'm playing on now turned out to be my favourite in my 1800+ hours PoE "career".

whew, finally! At least I got a great roll (god bless the guy for not price gauging)

One thing to remember is that the base itself can also roll +-X%, the lower left corner of the item on trade shows it ("base percentile X%"), so don't just go by the increased armor/shield stat. I usually just sort by armor itself descending, but keep in mind if they quality it or not.

right!

I have an 87 out of 100 roll on the base percentile and a 395 out of 400 roll on the Increased Armor and ES. That is pretty solid for items that no one wants to Divine any more.

People are selling these rolls in the mid 20 div's, but the guy sold it to me for 16.5 div. I was very fortunate.

I am going to beast craft this to 30% to squeak out a tiny bit more.

I wouldn't pay attentio too much to that unless there's large enough offer to pick bigger base % for the same big rolls on the mods and for the same price. Mod rolls are much more important when buying and if the base armour/es (of item itself) aren't that good, well, then it can go only up after 1-2 blessed orb uses which aren't that expensive. Especially when it comes to rolling those on ~10+ div items or those items that have very small offer of high rolls for reasonable price on actual mod rolls.

And I have to throw out a thanks to Grimro. I used his simple Underground Sea farming strat and got myself a Aegis in about 2 days of playing.

If people are looking for a 0 investment strat, this may be of interest to you. The money generation is very consistent.

this has always confused me....

Blessed Orbs, I thought, were to reroll Implicits. But I did not think Aegis had any implicits...

I thought the only way to get implicits on Aegis was to corrupt it....
