Vendor Recipe: 5-link item -> 7 orbs of fusing.

It is consistent with your existing 6-socket / 7 jeweller's orb recipe, it is not super over-powered, and it would require almost no work for your devs.

It would also address current complaints about these relatively rare items being useless to vendors.

OK, maybe 7 is a bit low, but it's a starting point, right? Because right now even that little bone is not available to players.

The only thing I am thinking with this idea is farming for The Flora cards. (1/5 gives 5l staff)

I would love to see something for 5-links, but I think 7 fuses is a bit high since they are so easy to farm.

They don't drop often at all, but they are very cheap and there are a billion div cards that give 5-links.

3-fusings would suffice.

A 6-socket gives jewels equally to 2 fusings(roughly right?) and they are pretty common.

An additional fusing would reward a 5-link sufficiently to not make them feel "worthless" later on in a league.
I think combating this feeling of worthlessness later on in a league(due to market saturation) should be the primary aim of a recipe for this. It would add another feels good spike to the game, where currently there is none or even worse the reverse effect.

This is suggested so often that GGG should really look into it. Maybe give a blessed orb or something which is nice but not OP. We already have a vendor to get fuses...

I've found a LOT more blessed orbs than 5-links, but I don't bother with the div cards, so it sounds about right.

Its suggested so often because everyone and their mother apparently thinks that just because something is "rare" or somewhat rare it should be valuable.

That isn't and shouldn't be the case.


Changing this now just rewards people for something they largely view as trash now, is that really logical to reward you with something you think is trash now, just because the occurrence is rare?

By that logic, the chrome recipe and the 7-jewellers recipe should also not exist. Do you think they are bad for the game, too?

Just so. A 5-link is both rare and useful early on (and, for SSF folks, not so early on). So it feels bad to find one and no longer have any use for it.

I also am puzzled that people think these are ridiculously common. I find maybe 3? 4? on average in a given league, and I am including the flora div card in that number.

Fusings, on the other hand? Including those I get form Vorici I get maybe 500+ in a given league.

7 orbs is not a huge amount, and it definitely isn't enough to incentivize farming Flora divs. Hell, I think it's just a token amount. But it would reduce that bad feeling you get when you have to sell one of these and get practically nothing for it.
