[outdated] Caustic Arrow Solo Map MFer (20/300+)
" Sorry, what I meant by my question was: Do you mean rolling maps for MF purposes; or rolling maps for +level map purposes? Jul 27, 2011 - Sept 30, 2018.

Could You explain Both purposes? |

Alright so, everyone does maps differently. Some people prefer to alc maps at 72-73 because it offers T2 resistance, and other affixes for offensive categories so they want more loot to drop to give them a better chance at finding stuff to sell. If that's your bag, then cool. I work things a bit differently.
The basic rule is I don't alc maps until 74, at minimum. The reason for that is simple: getting up to and sustaining 74 maps is relatively easy just by pounding the crap out of every map level below it. Eventually you'll just have a nice pool of 74s just by running a lot of maps. 74+ is where map sustain gets more difficult, so for the purposes of pushing up to higher maps, that's where I start alcing. But I don't chisel at that juncture, yet. I start chiselling at 76-77. This is where the decision-making process splits a bit: For MF purposes, I don't care what rolls I get, or what quantity I get. I just transmute 68-73, and alc 74+, then run it, regardless of what the roll ends up being (I make an exception and reroll chilled ground, cuz I flat out HATE chilled ground). This build can run literally any map mod so I otherwise don't spend a single chaos on rolling a map when all I'm looking to do is MF. The justification for me personally in not caring about the rerolls is similarly simple: I'd rather attrition the good drops by simply running a boatload of maps rather than spending 1 more piece of currency than necessary just to give myself a CHANCE at getting a slightly better item. For map sustain purposes, it's different. I reroll anything 74+ that isn't 60%+ (unchiselled) or 80%+ (chiselled), up to level 78 maps. Starting at 78, I reroll anything that isn't 90%+ (chiselled). I make exceptions if I get extra magic packs size, but I take into consideration the rest of the map mods. If for some reason I get a small pool of affixes (say, vulnerability with extra monster damage and magic pack size) that puts the map roll under the aforementioned benchmark values, I'll still run the map. A more dangerous map provides a better chance at getting map drops, as does magic pack size. Starting at 79, I also will invest chaos in Zana map mods. If the map doesn't already have magic packsize / bloodlines, I use the Bloodlines mod. If it already has magic packsize, I use the Onslaught mod. Hope that helps. Jul 27, 2011 - Sept 30, 2018. Could you tell me which Masters I should start with? Im pretty new to Masters... Thank you so much for your hard work on this Build!
|
|
" Elreon, Haku, Catarina or Vorici (depending if you want Meta-mod crafting or artisan crafting to make colouring/socketing easier) in that order, and ofc Zana. Save Vorici/Caterina for the last master you bring in. Jul 27, 2011 - Sept 30, 2018.

Hi,
I am starting this build as a Scion (Level 75 now). My passive is shown in the link below: http://www.pathofexile.com/fullscreen-passive-skill-tree/AAAAAwABAO4DHgUtBbUGIw-rFSAWvxmKGbQbyB9BI_YkiyaVKk0s6S2DMHw1kjY9Ps8_J0MxRwZHfkkTSshNkk3jUUdSr1VLWhpaUmHiYqxlTWf8bAhsjG1sbmluqnTtdct2gnvDfXWExYazieCNfY1-jb-TH5cGm12btZ2qqJq0xbTRtfK3trtNu-O9Nr3mvqfC7MMzwzrEosgMy73Q0NN-1CPV-Ni92sHb591f44TmWOaB6mLvevGK8kXyl_aj_gr-j_66 To improve survivability, is it better to: a) Spend 5 skill points from "Shaper" to the Scion starting point (through Life Regen path) b) Spend 5 skill points from "Finesse" to the Ranger starting point (through Evation & Life path) Thanks |
