[outdated] Caustic Arrow Solo Map MFer (20/300+)
" There's absolutely no reason for your clear speed to have slowed. It's psychological only. Precisely 0 other quivers exist that scale the PA cloud damage. The only reason your clear speed would have slowed is if you're playing more carefully because of the change in your net life, or if you suddenly forgot to keep frenzy charges up. If anything, you should've seen a massive increase in your clear speed. Judging by "I'm struggling a little bit", it's probably because you haven't yet adjusted to having less life so you're facerolling less. You've taken an accuracy / crit node heading to depth perception. Remove that and invest it in the last life node next to golem's blood. Your flasks are also a big issue. There's no reason (ever) to use a hybrid flask in this game. If you roll two Seething Hallowed Life flasks (check FAQ for why Hallowed), you'll be able to double or triple tap your way out of burst damage quite quickly and reliably, which will allow you to be more reckless. Aka, improve your clear speed since you won't be running around waiting 10 years for your life to refill. You should only have one longer duration life flask. Empower level 2 in that bow. Also, scour that bow and re-roll it with alterations to +2 bow gems or +1 all gems. Then regal and see if you get lucky, unless you have a Catarina 8 in which case you should go to the FAQ and check out the detailed guide about how to roll your own +3 bow. Recent discovery in the community. If you don't have an Empower 2, use Iron Grip. Increased duration's a wasted gem slot. Jul 27, 2011 - Sept 30, 2018. " Clear speed should be much better with Drillneck. Some possibilities: 1) You have two Poison Arrow gems. Might you be using the one in your boots by mistake? 2) Are your resists still capped? 3) Drillneck works by increasing damage via arrow pierce chance. Is your pierce chance reasonably high (e.g. did you take the pierce wheel in the passive tree)? As for the bow: There's a technique to mastercraft a +3 bow. Look at the FAQ in the first post in this thread for details. It's not at all expensive (2 or 3 exalts plus some other currency) but requires Catarina level 8 (if you don't have Catarina level 8 I"m sure someone on this thread can help). Good luck. Edit: Serleth's post beat mine by mere seconds :-) Última edição por hankinsohl em 29 de ago de 2015 04:04:01

Thanks for the guide. it's super helpful.
I read your reddit post on IIR/IIQ in 2.0, but I wasn't clear on your gloves choice. Are IIR rare gloves always better than sadima's or is it more about the defensive capabilities? Also, what belt do you use? I read your post on ventor's vs andvarius. Would your opinion change for a HC league where the potential defensive stats on a ventor's would be more valuable or is the drop in MF stats simply not worth it (assuming neither the ventor's nor the andvarius have perfect rolls)? " a) Defensive capabilities. Especially since it seems like you're rolling HC. b) Gear spoiler in OP. It's a rare tri-res leather belt. c) I would go with one Ventor's in HC, but only if it was 5/30 or higher. Otherwise I'd stick with Andvarius. The life roll on Ventor's is slightly helpful but not significant enough to really make it a game-breaking choice. If you think you can survive well without the additional life or you're finding you have easy res balance, a high roll Andvarius (65%+) is still better than a high-rolled Ventor's (7/37ish) strictly from an MF standpoint. It comes down to expense, too. Andvarius is cheap by comparison to a well-rolled Ventor's. The extra 2+ ex you'd have to spend to get equivalent MF potency, when currency is still at a premium for you, imho isn't worth the stretch. It's much easier to swap later, than earlier. In my opinion. Jul 27, 2011 - Sept 30, 2018.

Hello,
if i got a +3 bow but without DoT, how much this will hurt the build? btw, which skill tree to use.. the one on forum or in the video? thnx :D <3 Edit: will get DoT on the bow ... Just wanna know what other mods can be useful beside the DoT and +3? (no resists found on poe.trade or MgoK or atk sp :'( :D ) Última edição por omarGM em 29 de ago de 2015 18:05:10

" Won't really kill the build without the DoT mod. It's just a free 2-3 10% damage nodes. Nothing else is really useful aside from DoT, +3, and resistances, and (M/L)GoK. Unless you're looking at a slow base attack speed bow. Then IAS. Jul 27, 2011 - Sept 30, 2018. Última edição por Serleth em 29 de ago de 2015 20:48:46

How Much is a Point of IIQ Worth?
In this post we examine how many points of IIR are worth one point of IIQ. We can use this information as a rule of thumb when choosing between two sets of gear with varying amounts of IIR and IIQ. If you've been reading my previous posts we assume that the amount of loot which drops from mobs is a function of the product of IIQ and IIR. So we try to maximize the coefficient C where: C = (1 + IIQ/100)(1 + IIR/100) We can use the above equation to derive the following equation for W, where W = the worth of IIQ in terms of IIR: W = (1 + IIR/100) / (1 + IIQ/100) Mathematical details are in the spoiler below for those who are interested
Spoiler
Given a function F(x,y) = (1 + X/100)(1 + y/100) what is the rate of change of F with respect to y as compared to the rate of change of F with respect to x? Holding x constant: dF/dy = (1 + x/100) / 100 Holding y constant: dF/dx = (1 + y/100) / 100 dF/dy / dF/dx = (1 + x/100) / (1 + y/100) Here's an example showing how to use W. For my gear, my IIR is 320 and my IIQ is 38. Plugging these numbers into the equation for W we get: W = (1 + 320/100) / (1 + 38/100) = 3.04 So, for my gear, 1 point of IIQ is worth about 3 points of IIR. I can use this information as a quick rule of thumb when choosing between two sets of gear by mentally converting all the IIQ on both sets to IIR so that there's a common basis of measure. Some notes: 1) Use W as a rule of thumb. W applies only to the gear you have on right now. Once you change your gear W will change, perhaps substantially. To make a final gear choice calculate C for both sets of gear and go with the higher C value. 2) What we're actually trying to maximize is the amount of loot we accumulate per unit time. So other factors such as life, resists, movement speed, etc. need to be considered as well when choosing gear. 3) Player magic find is subject to diminishing returns. To my knowledge, GGG has not published details about how these diminishing returns are implemented. And, aside from this thread https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/725812 I'm not aware of any work done by players to determine how diminishing returns work. So at high levels of magic find additional IIQ/IIR may have reduced impact. Última edição por hankinsohl em 29 de ago de 2015 23:33:50

Heya!
I am prepping to start leveling a PA char and I have been doing my homework (slightly) and I have checked out 2 builds, yours and one that is scion and I wanted to ask, what is the benefit of either? The scion build has 1 more jewel slot but apart from that to the untrained eye like mine it seems rather similar if not identical, is there a reason as to why you went ranger and not scion? Eh I am not in any way trying to sound stupid or something I'm just trying to understand the benefits etc (: Also, Iron reflex or no? I know its easier to get the right colours on a evasion armour but if you already have a good high armour chest, would that be viable? And as for leveling, did you have trouble with bosses? In the video of Atziri you seem really squishy, might just be the zone I don't know but would iron reflex do something to that? sorry for all the, what I assume to be stupid, questions (: Última edição por Chridian em 30 de ago de 2015 07:52:19

" Scion is one point less efficient until you're in the mid to high 90s of levelling, by one passive point. The only advantage is faster access to more jewel slots. Acro/Phase is king for most situations. No boss trouble. Squishiness has a lot to do with me being reckless because I know that I can flask out of situations with my two seething pots. I just go headfirst into a lot of things and trust my skills. Jul 27, 2011 - Sept 30, 2018. Última edição por Serleth em 30 de ago de 2015 12:03:50

Aah got it, I have my answers then, time to try and get the necessary items (:
thanks for the reply! Build looks really fun tbh, and guide was the single most in depth I have read and I'm really looking forward to starting this build, not looking forward to crafting the bow but I'll get by ^^ Regarding the body armour though, I have a 6L astral, would you still recommend getting a evasion one even if I am planing to go Iron reflex? or would you recommend not going iron reflex at all? |
