I am interested in switching to lacerate from bladestorm, I just got this enchant last night in lab:



I see there are no changes recommended on the tree in a past post by wrecker and I went to check out:

Thanks, I'll head there next. I think I can remove one of my gems and a +30 dex node I needed earlier for some reason and get there or maybe just 1 level short. Then I can get back to life nodes. I'm a little concerned that I'm level 82 and my life is short of 5k so far. But then again, I am SSF and I haven't found top tier gear at this point.

I did get a blue 5-link armor that I regal'd to rare, but unfortunately it doesn't have a lot of mods. Still can't complain with the ones I got though. Dual 40% resists and a low life add and I added armor to get it close to 1k. Happy to finally add Brutality to my Bladestorm. I'm still using Double Strike instead of Riposte as my boss killer (alternate with Bladestorm) and it does very well with Ancestral Call.



I started delving a bit and realized that there are Azurite vaults and better! Geez, I've been so lame I also didn't go down lower for some reason, not realizing you can just jump as low as you want (at least within reason). I'm staying in the monster levels at 60+ to do the chaos recipe (just to collect for when this league is over).

I had a nice metamorph organ last night that gave incubator items and I got a map one. Look what I incubated! Holy shit, level 16. There is no way I can take this on at this point, so I guess I'll hold on to it. No reflect at least, I think the other mods are doable.



Still loving this build and hoping that with the 5-link I will gain some more killing power. I'm really not struggling up to T5 maps and only the Sacrifice fragment boss (all 4) has killed me. Got there but couldn't do anything at all. Not sure if I should be able to kill that boss at my level or if I went in way too early.

Hoping to find that elusive 6-link or my first SSF Exalt drop, so I'll keep going. Thanks for the tips and advice and the great build.

Question for anyone - I was lucky enough to come across a 6L today, but it's corrupted and is 3G2B1R. Aside from Close Combat, are there any Dex or Int support gems that are good enough to make the 6L better to use than say a 4L that I can customize more explicitly?

Culling Strike comes to my mind. It causes hits to kill enemies left with 10% of maximum life or less. Should help to speed up the clearing of maps and killing of bosses.

I don't suggest using that chest piece. It basically nullifies one of our ascendancy nodes. It is lots of damage but at the cost of a large amount of defence.I think a nice rare chest with lots of life and resists (and the sockets you want) is best. But that's my opinion.

Thanks Wrecker, I came to the same conclusion last night after equipping it and seeing only a marginal damage increase. It's not worth the trade off.

So I finished Cruel Lab last night and although I got a crappy boot mod that added lightning damage only if I haven't damaged lately, I did find a nice sword with added physical and cold damage and 20% increase attack speed, so I finally have a decent weapon. The build feels like it's rolling again as I immediately began mowing down mobs again like the early days and rolled all the way to maps. The Lab also dropped a 6-link Chain Mail that I don't have enough Intelligence to use (my character that is, I know how to equip it). I'm looking for an easy way to get a passive node and use it, but I'm not sure I can get 5 red and 1 green link, so I may just keep rolling with my 4-link until I can find a strength based 6-link armor. We will see.

Might I add that the new little mini-quest to get the map device is tedious. I guess it has a story element, but after getting the map device last league, I was excited to jump right in only to find I had to do more running...

I'm currently hunting for Chaos Resist gear to get from -5 currently into the positive and of course, better overall gear and a 6-link.

Anyway, thanks again for the help and the great build. Really having fun and the first map I ran was great. Can't wait to spend some time cleaning out my inventory and getting ready for the Atlas progression. Level 74 and going.

Hey Wrecker, just wanted to add my thanks to the thread. Really enjoying the build. I hadn't played since Betrayal because I got frustrated with the performance issues leading to progression stalling at level 87. Got the itch to play again and someone linked to your builds on reddit and I decided to try this one out.

I probably should have read the thread first because I put too much focus on defense in my gear so far I think. I'll have to see if I can adjust things as I find other gear.

I'm at level 84 and hoping this is the first character I get to 90 at the very least. I stalled on the storm brand Iquisitor in Betrayal at 87. I'm never going to be a very good player, but this has been the tankiest build I think I've played on both PC and PS4.

Anyway, good to see someone that posts SSF builds and actually means it. So many I have found say they are, but then end up mentioning specific gear that you need to get.

Thanks for the time you put into this. It is one of the great things about the game. The community is filled with helpful people. With the complexity of the game that really helps keep people coming back I'm sure.

I'm already getting the itch to try another build. I enjoy my casters even though I always end up too squishy. But will be pushing this was as far as I can before the league ends.

I'm really glad you are having a good time! PoE is a great game, but it's only great when you're having fun :). Thanks for taking the time to be thankful. I appreciate it.

Your gear looks amazing! Your only available improvements are min/maxing. So if you find both survivability and damage to your liking, don't change a thing. The only improvements I can see are a helmet that gives you 100+ life and improving your life rolls on your other gear that are under 80. Your rare ring could be a Steel Ring (for the implicit) too.

But honestly, don't change anything if you don't want to. Your gear is amazing and I doubt you'll run into issues. Good job on your gear and thanks again for your kindness.
