Sorry if I'm co-opting this thread with my progress updates on the build, let me know if its a problem and I'll stop.

I ran a Zana mission last night hoping for the Grief trial I needed, found a map in her mission that had trials and...it wasn't the one I needed. Oh well, play on. The very next map, I ran a T3 just to spawn Baran the final time and it has a trial and *boom* it's the Trial of Crippling Grief! Woot. So I finished it and then ran the Eternal Lab and got my final ascendency points. Yeah, nice.

I took a while to get all the silver chests in the lab, so it was all I could do last night so I really couldn't try it out to see if I notice a difference. I assume with 10 Challenger charges giving 2% attack and movement speed each, I'll notice more in clear time. The lab last night had an acceleration dark shrine that was incredible. That is 50% so 20% fully maxed Challenger charges won't be quite as insane, but I imagine it will quickly be difficult to play at regular speed after having it.

I also had a prophecy that tripped after killing Itziri. I got Inya and killed her to get these:

I really want to do the Pale Council but don't know how to go about getting the others. I'll have to read up.

Other than that, a couple of delve nodes in the ilevel 75 range got me this:

I have the following fossils, but really that only allows 1 or maybe two tries. Not sure if it's worth using a 2, 3, or 4 fossil resonator. I'd like to do a Sygian vise to get life and then maybe a ring to get life, attack and/or damage mods.

Anyway, I have the 4th Baran unlocked, I was waiting for my Arena Challenger to try him. Hoping for the best.

Happy Hunting.
Hey Thrippy!

Decisions decisions. It's tough. I'd save your Prime Resonator for when you have 4 fossils you know are really helpful. I wouldn't waste it if you were only using three.

You may post as much as you like. I like reading people's updates and progress. It's a pleasure to have you around :). Good luck with Baran and the 4th ascendancy! I hate it when RNG gets in the way of Ascending.

Hey Wrecker,

I also wanted to thank you for the build. I recently returned to PoE after a break of several years (since Act 4 was the last act and there were still three difficulty levels). Anyway, I decided to try PoE again, and searched for a melee build and found this one. I never followed builds when I played before, because they usually required gear I didn't have, and I have never enjoyed the trading/economy aspects of games. So the highest I ever got with a character was 85 while still in Cruel, and I never managed to get through even the lowest level of the Labyrinth. Anyway, I'm following this build and I'm at level 54 so far, in Act 6, taking my time, since everything after Act 4 is new to me. I have also successfully run the lowest level of the Labyrinth and got an Ascendancy for the very first time! Oh, and I've only died twice so far, so I'm really happy I found this build guide. Thanks again!
Hey Mardonius_Corvinus!

That's such a kind message. Thanks for taking the time to be thoughtful and encouraging! I'm glad you came back to the game. It's amazing how much has changed since the 4-Act days! Congrats on Ascending!

I'm really happy to have been able to help you progress further in the game. Please feel free to ask any questions you like. And good job taking your time! The story is pretty cool.

Thanks again for your post. You're very kind.

Hey Everyone!
I'm just testing some new colours here.
Maybe something guide specific?
BladeStorm is red in Blood Stance,
But beige in sand stance...hmmmm....
Anyway, off to the important part of the post.

https://www.pathofexile.com/account/view-profile/Wrecker_of_Days/item-filters

Hey Everyone!

Just a heads up, I'm doing a filter overhaul. I've decided to make filters for EVERYONE, not just guide specific filters. The EVERYONE filter obviously includes all item bases and the GUIDE specific filter only shows guide relevant gear. As usual, my filters will show ALL non-gear drops. They'll only filter gear. Now that I have a filter for EVERYONE, my guide specific filter is more specific than the original one.

Both the EVERYONE filter and the GUIDE filter have the Starting OFF, All Setup, and No Low Currency versions to Follow. The GUIDE filters will be changed shortly.

If you use my filters, let me know what you think of the changes!

Thanks for your time.

The build is very good, just got on level 70 and still need to get more life but it's very nice.

Got this weapon to free up a gem slot to use leap slam.

Not too much currency to invest so the "cheapness" of the build helps.

I notice some nodes on the skill tree are highlighted in red, other builds do this and I don't really know what it means can someone explain to me why its circled n stuff?

im a noob and this is my first league :/

If you are looking at the tree in Path of Building and have "Show Node Power" checked at the bottom of the screen, it will highlight powerful offensive nodes in red and powerful defensive nodes in blue. Stronger highlight = more powerful.

Hey Wrecker - I have been doing this build in metamorph. I have couple questions about the tree. How valuable are Heart of Oak and Aspect of the Lynx over in the ranger area? Is the stun recovery/avoidance that powerful, given that blocked hits cannot stun us? Did you do it for the movement speed? (For getting to Aspect of the Lynx, PoB seems to think that the attack speed node is slightly better than the damage node.)

I slightly reworked the tree to go past Bloodless/Soul of Steel (go left from the Rampart cluster instead of going left from Master of the Arena). The net result at level 91 would be 50 more life and a 0.8% more damage. It also gives access to Soul of Steel for +1 to max resists and more 5% life nodes instead of 4% ones.

Hello! I know that your build has very very cheap gear but from what i saw from the 3.9 video it looks like zero dps.

Can someone tell me how the dps and clearing speed is with good gear?

Hey nightofnights!

That's very kind of you! I'm glad you're enjoying it. Thanks for passing it on :). I appreciate it.

Nice weapon :). It'll do very nicely until you get something that drops a high % to physical damage AND a high flat damage roll. That'll do well for you! Nice find.

Great job! Let me know how it goes!

Hey CelticHound!

Sweet! I hope the build is doing well for you this league :). Heart of the Oak and Aspect of the Lynx are great nodes, but they aren't the reason I'm over on the east side of the tree. I'm there for Precise Interception and then took the best offensive and defensive nodes around so it wasn't a waste of travel.

We can actually get stunned still (if the wiki is correct). Here: "When an attack is blocked, the game also calculates if the attack would have caused a stun were it not blocked. If it would have caused a stun, the blocking animation is played, stunning you briefly. If it would not have caused a stun, then you get a "free" block with no animation. Faster Block and Stun Recovery and Increased Block Recovery modifiers reduce the length of the blocking animation." So for the min/maxer out there, block recovery is actually really helpful.

Feel free to make any modifications you like of course! You're correct that the Attack Speed gives a little more DPS than the flat damage node on the way to Lynx. I just prefer flat damage over attack speed.

Your setup looks awesome! Thanks for the link! I appreciate the feedback and questions. Let us know how things go with your setup for sure!

Hey Projecttsok!

This build does quite good damage if you're getting Hit. The damage of the Counter-Attacks is fantastic when combined with Bladestorm and a good weapon. If you're not getting hit often, the fights go slower. Bladestorm's damage (with my tree) is OK. Not amazing. So I stay in the line of fire in high tier Drox battles. Just so that I'm getting hit as often as possible.

Clear Speed is pretty good too. You just have to be comfortable switching between Blood and Sand stance when you notice a beefy enemy amongst the weak.

Does that answer your question? Let me know if you were thinking of something more specific.

Hello again,

Just wanted to give some news from my journey with this build.
Eventhough mine now completely turned in to a lacarate gladiator.
The build got me lifted higher tiers and by only being able to use what I find is made me save quite some currency and made possible the upgrades that I made.
Currently level 95
Tier 16 are easy
7 awakener level Sirius down(working toward to 8)
Shaper down (First time I killed it so thanks again Wrecker.)
Elder down (Also first time)

And things are going pretty well :)
