PoE2: "Failed to connect to instance"

My character got hit by this bug some time ago and the only solution I found was to use the GGG-Client instead of the Steam-Client. For some strange reason I can login with the GGG-client just fine, while I always get "failed to connect to instance" when I use the steam client again (no matter where I log off).
I emaild support about this issue but never got a response.

i had same problem, i was on Paris server, tried alot of things, but then i changed to Amsterdam and it worked again, so just change server.

had this problem, changed from amsterdam eu to london eu, everything works againg, portal was still open

Switching servers helped me.
