is there a 64 bit executabe for P.O.E.?

is there any plan to write a 64 bit client for path of exile?

I don't believe that there's any benefit to creating a 64-bit executable in this case.
Unless a single instance of the application requires more than 2Gb of RAM while running, there's really no benefit to making an application 64-bit and there are a few downsides to doing so (the executable and DLLs will be slightly larger, and there may even be some minor performance degradation). http://guildmedieval.com/

64-bit executables allow access to more registers in the cpu and this can often make applications run faster.

" Tn theory perhaps, but I haven't seen any benchmarks to support this hypothesis. In terms of benchmarking actual applications compiled in 32-bit vs 64-bit, the results have shown insignificant differences in performance, but significant differences in memory usage. In specialized applications such as video encoders, encryption software, etc.., there have been some performance benefits from this. The one general application performance benefit that I have seen, is that 64-bit floating point precision math operations are definitely faster when compiled using 64-bit instructions. However, generally most applications you run on a personal computer don't require 64-bit floating point precision. I suspect that for a game like PoE, 32-bit precision is all that is required. http://guildmedieval.com/

only reason I asked is that my game is getting some frame freeses
the game freeses at times for a split second so my thought was that I had a 64 bit ver of windows installed my specs are as follows evga 680i mobo -gts 250 1gigvram -6gigkingston hyperx@1100 mhs intel e6850 @3.0ghz operating system is server 2012 datacenter X64 game is running with max setting and max resolution and seems stable with 55frames per second but with minor frame freeses |

" This might be better done in the support section of the forums. You'll likely get a more appropriate answer for your question then. "Minions of your minions are your minion's minions, not your minions." - Mark

Lol. It would see significant performance gains if optimized for 64 bit, not merely recompiled. They don't merely because the core audience isn't there yet. Eventually everyone will be, and they will.

I'm not sure what you mean by 'the core audience isn't there yet'.
If you are referring to users still on 32 bit hardware as opposed to 64 bit hardware...I havent even seen a 32 bit box in a few years now. If someone is still running a 32 bit box, I doubt they are playing PoE with it. |

The ram usage of POE is horrible and I am sure if this game had a 64 bit version it would run better, like skyrim ran better after it.
The problem is if I understand well (I might be wrong), when you get a 32 bit version of a software and you have more than 2gb of ram, the programs(or windows can t remember) doesn't use all your ram and stick to 2gb. With a 64 bit version people with +2gb would have better performances (and most of us have +2 gb of ram) Forum pvp https://www.instagram.com/critterspencils/ Última edição por lolozori#1147 em 27 de dez. de 2013 07:43:40
