Why are you, as a player, against an auction house similar to D3's?
actually that is a good point mr but what about this that u cant sell rare items only by player trade kinda way. So that u could sell ordinary stuff in the marketplace but there is a limit of quality that u can sell lets say like u can only sell normal - unique or something like that basically what im tryn to explain is a end game gear uniques and super rares are no no in the marketplace or there is a limit of how much u can buy items overall so that devs wouldnt have to nerf drop rates.

In D3, I'm against the GAH because it basically lets gold farmers get the best gear, while also breaking the economy like crazy (to get mid-end gear, you'd have to have the gold only a gold botter would have, which is a lot).
In PoE, I have mixed views of it. On one hand, people can't just buy their way to victory easily (have to actually do stuff to get currency), but still, a player-controlled economy like the AH I still see being broken like I described above... When you have to actually interact with players, I feel a deeper sense of trade, and that your actually trading for something that you are sure of being needed. With an AH, I'd feel people would just buy stuff that "looks good", without too much in-depth concern of whether it would help them or not and how long. I really like the idea of an AH where you can post buy and sell orders. The game holds your item while you are offline so that the meetup isn't neccasary. It would work just like a good posting on the trade forum but be in game and take out some of the hassle. Could even give the seller or buyer a choice to post a comment when they place the offer. It keeps the current barter system intact but would allow more casual players to have some chance to trade. As is, with my limited playing time I'll choose monster killing over reading trade chat any day of the week. It would keep trade chat alive for people who wanted to take offers instead of a specific asking price.

thats why i call it a market place players would still have to interact with each other in order to make the trade im just tryn to explain how to make it easier. Somebody said that it reminded for him lineage 2 marketplace where u could sell stuff while being afk dunno never played it. But it would look like this that ur going to a certain area where there is a lets say stalls of items not super rare or smt like that only common to uncommon or smt. u would walk up to the stall and make a buy request u write a wishlist and what ur going to exchange for it. But in order to really buy it the one who sells it must be there as well. lets say that the one who is selling has a window of what he is selling and there is a notification that somebody wants to buy it he would either run there or PM to him telling where he wants to meet him or haggle. So does it still sound like an good idea or bad?

" Shop system like in L2 would be a good idea. Where you could just point out the items that you want to sell, then other players could just right-click on your portrait and choose "shop". When they're choosing shop, a new window will appear with the items you picked for sale. Cheven - 39 Marauder - 2H Mace build.

" Here is where your thinking is flawed. This isn't a game like Assassin's Creed or Halo 3, where the only part of the game is to play the game. This is an ARPG with a community. PART OF THE GAME IS INTERACTING WITH THE COMMUNITY. <--- That is very important. PoE is supposed to feel like a world, not a machine. In the world, you have to deal with other people however frustrating they may be, and not machines (at least not yet). Sounds like you're interested in playing a good single player game, because adding an AH would turn this into just that. No offense, just some criticism. |
