There is no way to ninja or steal in this game.
lol what ? hello ostrich, didnt recognize you. tell me how it is with your head in the sand ?
if the purpose of your grouping with another player is to wait for their milisec timer with their name on it to expire so you could pick up their item or run before anybody else to open chests, dont get involved in fighting because whats the point when you get loot better simply standing around and looking at timers and what dropped what.. then we have a very different conception of what is enjoyable in a game.
and still, you and your ilk dont even want to give me the option to at least make the game more group friendly and fairer.
It appears we do. I guess I did have my head in the sand. I missed the part where I was now able to go into a game that have been in development for years, and then demand that things change for me, and then tell everyone they are terrible people for saying no.
No, you're right. It makes much more sense to flame anyone that suggests something different because, hey, your opinion is right and ours is wrong and we deserve to know it! There's not even a need to refute our arguments, not because you can't, but because we're so wrong that there's no way we could be persuaded otherwise.
P.S. The loot system has been modified all throughout development.

No. Stahp. There is no need for the system to change.
You cannot join a game that is designed a specific way, with people who enjoy the game because of it being that way, and say it has to change. This is NOT D3 or D2, it is PoE and it has a Semi-FFA loot system.
Looks at that. The very beginning of your speech and there is already a major problem. Apparently your under the assumption that people enjoy the game because of it being that way. That makes it sound like the people who aren't happy with the system are just a small portion of the population being loud about it. Thats obviously not even remotely true. There's far more discontent for this system. This system fails at getting people into public games and pushes the majority into single player or small parties. There are more than enough players unhappy with the system to reevaluate whether its worth having it only be this way or not.
If you don't mind, can I get some stats on how many people like and do not like it? I just want to verify your right in saying that more people dislike it.

You're back! Apparently you didn't read up from where you left us.
You cannot take our items, because we don't play in public parties.
Good! So you have figured out a solution to your problem that doesn't involve the developers altering the game because you don't like it, great!
I guess you can put this argument to bed then!

And has always been FFA or semi FFA. As it should be.

And you've hit on the same issue yet again: it becomes a choice between helping the group (by killing stuff so that it doesn't kill you) or helping yourself (by stopping the attacks in order to pick up potentially better loot).
So seeing as your upset about loot, pick up your loot and go back to killing.

I donated to GGG and hate the loot system. It does not foster random groups due to the frequent ninja looting. It may have been seen as "competitive" in D2, but it sucked even then.
OP: your generalization fails.

Everyone calling for instanced loot:
Thanks for all the orbs, gems and rares!
Hopefully one of these times you'll rage out and get typekilled hammering out "WTF THATS MINE" after you didn't bother to pick up your stuff, I think that would be hilarious.
Or alternatively, you could ask someone for it back the first time you get ninja'd and leave immediately if they dont comply. Or start grabbing their stuff whenever possible. Or try and lead them into a room with a necro champ, 'Enemies cannot die' totem and a bunch of spark mages and block their way back out.Or play with your friends and share drops. Or play solo.
Plenty of fun choices that don't involve GGG bending the game over so you can pick up your stuff easier.
How about you guys adapt to the game instead of insisting that it be adapted to you?
How about you being against an simple option in a game that is literaly bursting with all kinds of options ?
Would someone take the way you like to play out ? NO !
What do you have to lose ? Other than other peoples items i mean.
How about this isn't a restaurant and you cant order it with mayo on the side.
Why do you all need your hand held?
Man up, and pick up your gear.
Thats the most idiotic analogy i ever heard. If this SSSR then ? The game is in beta status, which means open to suggestions. The game prides itself on giving their players options.
We want an option which wouldnt hurt anybody but ninja looters. You are against it, even when it would have no influence on the way you play the game, except maybe lower the base of players wanting to play it that way when presented with simple - another option.

I don't know why ninja looting is encouraged by so many people in this game. For me that feature is just a vestige of old school ARPGs that didn't have enough tools to code a proper looting system and that wasn't improved for lack of proper supporting from the dev team.
The way it works right now I can just join a group, do nothing to help (by faking or dealing shitty DPS) and then collect the rewards of those that actually helped. If GGG don't want to add separated drops they should at least raise the timer on boss dropped items because it's impossible to pick your reserved items in time with so many items showing in the screen.

Why should I not own what I fought for equally? Why are we even in a party if we're not supposed to work together? Why not get rid of parties altogether?
Probably because you didn't get to your loot in time and because this is a Semi-FFA based game.
