This loot system is just putting off players from participating and enjoying the game.
For every 1 person that actually enjoys this FFA system I bet there will be 2 other potential customers would prefer another.
I'm not supporting the game with my money until they actually address this somehow -- simply because there is pretty large community support for another loot OPTION and I'll lose my faith in GGG if they dont respond SOMEHOW -- a dev response even -- to what their players want.
GGG seem to be on top of every other issue but are remaining very quiet about this.

I don't know why ninja looting is encouraged by so many people in this game. For me that feature is just a vestige of old school ARPGs that didn't have enough tools to code a proper looting system and that wasn't improved for lack of proper supporting from the dev team.
The way it works right now I can just join a group, do nothing to help (by faking or dealing shitty DPS) and then collect the rewards of those that actually helped. If GGG don't want to add separated drops they should at least raise the timer on boss dropped items because it's impossible to pick your reserved items in time with so many items showing in the screen.
Or... wait for it...
YOU CAN PAY ATTENTION TO YOUR DROPS AND PICK THEM UP YOURSELF
If your latency is so high that you aren't able to get stuff for yourself due to lag, you shouldn't play in a pub.
Also, the current system was a design *choice* made for gameplay reasons, not simply to regurgitate what was done in older games.
For the record, I'm absolutely playing devils advocate here. I never take other people's drops, unless they managed to start picking mine off first. Then its game on.
I just don't understand why people can't adapt to the game. Its fun. Having to be conscious of your drops is fun an adds another layer of tension to an already tense game. If you disagree, that's fine, you aren't forced to like it obviously. But you should at least make a cursory attempt to get familiar with the game and its subtleties for more than a week before marching in here demanding this be changed because you don't like it.
thats where you wrong, no one is demanding for anything to be changed. changing means to ireversibly alter this type of loot system, they arent askin for that, they are asking for another option. whats in it for you to argue against such an option, when it would have no implications on you or on game world ?

Probably because you didn't get to your loot in time and because this is a Semi-FFA based game.
Do you even think before you type? Do you realize what you said is irrelevant to what I said? Why don't you actually try to make an argument?

Changing how the loot works in a loot game is not a small change. Its a huge one.
You're absolutely right. Increasing the (existing) timer by an extra second or two would likely take months, if not years, of development time, not to mention the necessary testing, documentation updates, and patching. For those that keep pushing for this change, beware: you're probably pushing Act 4 back AT LEAST another 2-3 years.

Fracturing the playerbase into instanced/non instanced does have implications on how I play the game; I like that everyone plays by the same rules, and that party dynamics can be murky or suspect at times. Its another layer to an already sweet onion. Why dumb it down? Adapt and conquer.

So would you join me in the cause to change the loot system to mini rock paper scissors tournament matches for each piece it would be fun for everyone i would use the micro transaction taunt after each win.

I'm not talking about technically, I'm talking about in terms of gameplay. No need to be so pedantic. Instanced loot would be a huge gameplay change.

It's fun for you, others hated it. Why do you want everyone to have the same "fun" as you. I tried public parties, didn't like it and went back to soloing --> fun?
Also: You're the third FFA-supporter in this thread that said you don't take others people's stuff anyway. Why do you need the FFA loot then?

I found a solution that is not perfect. Since I am a perfectionist I strive for perfection. Changing the loot system to something that encourages grouping rather than discouraging it would not only benefit me but the game and the community as a whole.
I don't believe I ever claimed majority. If I did then by all means shame on me.
You left out the part were I quoted mrmath because that would make it obvious that what you wrote is in no way connected to what I was talking about.

He hasn't actually rebutted any arguments since the start of the thread. Each of his posts is usually some sort of non-sequitur with an occasionally-veiled insult.
