thats where you wrong, no one is demanding for anything to be changed. changing means to ireversibly alter this type of loot system, they arent askin for that, they are asking for another option. whats in it for you to argue against such an option, when it would have no implications on you or on game world ?

Fracturing the playerbase into instanced/non instanced does have implications on how I play the game; I like that everyone plays by the same rules, and that party dynamics can be murky or suspect at times. Its another layer to an already sweet onion. Why dumb it down? Adapt and conquer.

And fracturing the playerbase to thousands of solo-players is better?
I think you're afraid of the possibility that the FFA league would get empty.

And again: Why should everyone happily adapt to the way you like it to be?

Because apparently, D2 was a flawless game, and making any changes to its system, for better or worse, will automatically make this game D3.

Also: You're the third FFA-supporter in this thread that said you don't take others people's stuff anyway. Why do you need the FFA loot then?

Because its fun! As I said before, I generally play with friends in private parties and we full share everything.

Sometimes I play pubs just for a change of pace. 90% of those games, people respect each others loot. 10% of the time everyone guns for everything, even to the point of trying to lure other players into bad spots and trash talking. It's different and fun, and also, relevant to you and the others who want an option for full instanced, its *very unusual*. Most so-called "ninjas" happen after a big fight and no one can remember whose is what anyway. In fact in a couple hundred hours of play, I can only remember having been in a handful of parties where everyone was outright gunning for everything. People are generally pretty courteous about loot.
And to beat a dead horse drum, this can all be completely mitigated by you being aware of the drops, prioritizing by value and making sure you get your stuff.

It forces you to be observant and responsive. This is not a bad quality in a design choice.

So even though me and my party mates already generally "instance" our loot manually, I appreciate having the option to go rogue should the situation dictate. Adding an instancing option for public parties would probably mean the end of that, because a majority of people don't want to actually think about it, they want it simpler.. and easier... I don't (and apparently GGG agree) think that PoE is, or should ever be, that kind of game.

The way I like it to be? I've adapted to THE WAY IT IS. Unlike you I'm not demanding game changes due to personal preference. I adapted to the game. You want it the other way around.

Ok here is my idea in a party the items would be pooled together and at different times a mini game of the parties choosing would pop up the winner would have first dibbs at the gear so it would be like mario party mixed with diablo win win anyone else have anything to add we can make this the best arpg ever

Changing how the loot works in a loot game is not a small change. Its a huge one.

You're absolutely right. Increasing the (existing) timer by an extra second or two would likely take months, if not years, of development time, not to mention the necessary testing, documentation updates, and patching. For those that keep pushing for this change, beware: you're probably pushing Act 4 back AT LEAST another 2-3 years.

I'm not talking about technically, I'm talking about in terms of gameplay. No need to be so pedantic. Instanced loot would be a huge gameplay change.

True, but I think you'll find that basically NOBODY wants instanced loot, just an improvement on the timer system.

Does anyone here have experience with modding controllers for pc i would like to have some sort of super smash brothers mini game and i don't think mouse and keyboard would do to well.
Make the timer last a bit longer if nothing else.

As it stands now we have a legion of ninja looters in this, i must say great game, who are not even being very helpful in fights, instead they are waiting for a chance to pick everything up like bloody vultures and are usually very eager to leave some insulting remark toward the rest of the party after the fight is over and their bag is full.

This is ruining the party based play experience especially for those who play ranged classes and there are plenty of those.

A legion?

People outright trolling parties by doing nothing but going for drops and trashtalking are exceedingly rare.

The vast majority of public parties are not like this at all. Join another party.
