"This loot system is flawed and needs to change!!"
" This. A game that adapts to its audience is called a Blizzard game. I can't stand all these yuppies that are so used to complaining on the forums and think that if they complain enough somebody will change something to make the game better for them. Play the damn game and quit bitching. Edit: this really doesn't have much to do with the issue, I just can't stand the entitlement seething from this thread. This is my first reply on the forum, because it's the first time I've actually been bothered enough by a game mechanic or bug to come post about it.
I'm fine with the supposedly "cut throat" intentions of allowing FFA systems. I would personally prefer if it was even more FFA, and after some jerkoff took my orb of alchemy I could kick him from the party, kill him, and take my stuff back. However, it's not. It's pseudo bullshit FFA. For a whole host of reasons the timer is too short. Either remove the timer altogether or extend it to a reasonable time. I didn't read all 36 pages of this thread, but I'm sure the various reasons for the timer being a huge pain in the ass have been covered. I would even be OK with the system the way it is, with a worthless timer, as long as we knew who was taking what loot. I'm fine with cut throat attitude. I'm not fine with there being ZERO RISK FOR PEOPLE TO BE ASSHOLES. THERE IS ZERO REPERCUSSION. ZERO. The community takes care of itself in an MMO typically, people develop reputations just like in real life, and the prospect of being known as an asshole and a thief generally deter asshole behavior. However, there is no way to tell who the asshole who keeps ninjaing loot is. Sometimes they are obvious and you can catch them, sometimes they're not. I'm sure some of you pathetic betas will argue this sneaky behavior is in the spirit of the game, and I would metaphorically spit on you. Random aside, the only other real issue I have with the game that needs help ASAP is the chat channels. It is important to feel somewhat connected to other people while playing otherwise the game gets boring fast (this is a good reply to all you potatos saying "if you don't like the loot system just solo lol!" - that's ridiculous and unrealistic, you go solo and take all the loot and the civilized people can play in groups). And currently, I have global off about 95% of the time because it's a worthless spam festival. Trade is getting worse by the day too, and now I have that off a lot of the time. Pages of mass item links scroll by in seconds, most of them lvl 6 garbage rares. We desperately need more chat channels, custom chat channels, off topic chat channels, however you want to do it IDC, but this is imperative to the success of the game imo. |

God forbid people leave feedback on the forums.
" I can give you a list of stuff that the Diablo community did NOT ask for that they put into the game and ultimately ruined it. That game was not built on feedback. It was build by devs that had no idea what they were doing. Standard Forever Última edição por iamstryker#5952 em 30 de jan. de 2013 19:57:52

I only have one issue, in that sometimes when trying to click on loot during the timer, my guy will actually not pick it up despite clicking directly on it and standing next to it.
Now I don't know whats to blame for this. Was I tired and just kept missclicking? Was I lagged from my end? From GGGs end? Some werid bug with dropped loot? No idea, but otherwise I wish the system stay more or less the same way it currently is. |

" From what I've seen in the complaints, people think that the gear the drops with their name on it was naturally theirs, but the timer ran out and someone else picked it up. Thing is it isn't their equipment, it's just a better chance at getting that piece. Never yours to begin with. " Not really going to bother commenting on this. You're killing things in a game to survive. It's simple. This is just nit-picking. " You don't need it to enjoy the game. I've been enjoying the game, loosing out on stuff I could have got and picked up stuff people left behind. I find it fun. " Okay. " I highly doubt this game is missing it's target audience seeing how it has server capacity issues. |

People need to lose this mentality of "This item HAD my name on it so it IS mine and you STOLE it"
That's not how it works nor how it was intended. Some people may not like the FFA loot aspect, but that was a conscious design choice. IMHO it was a good choice on GGG's part because it's fun and still gives everyone a chance at getting something. FYI: the original design was just FFA with no timers. The timers were put in place to give ranged characters and players with higher latency a better chance at getting something. In my experience so far most players go by FFA rules. I personally will not join any party that tries to allocate loot and if someone whines about it in my party you can be damn sure I'm kicking them because they are ruining the fun for everyone else. If you want allocated loot then play with like-minded people. Make your 'no ninja' party and kick anyone that breaks your established rules. Build a friend list out of people that share the same mentality as you. Don't join in someone else's party and demand that they follow your rules, because that is what you're doing. You don't want to play by the established rules of the developers, you want it to work your way and want everyone else follow suit. To this I say nay. <Dregs of Theopolis>

Biggest problem I see is for ranged classes. As a witch it really sucks that I have to dive into a pack of 5 mobs to grab my item when one of them dies. It is very risky for me, but not risky at all for the tank or melee already in the thick of the fight ready to jack my items.
The solution is simple: have the items spawn at the feet of the player they are reserved for. Keep the loot timer exactly as it is. Maybe implement a range so only characters within vision of the mob can get the loot summoned to them. The current system unfairly favors melee over ranged. |
