Splashtop in videos. There's also Kainy.

And for those of you who don't want to watch the videos, I'll just say that it's a remote desktop program which streams your computer gaming onto your tablet or phone and allows you to play from your tablet or phone. So your tablet/phone is actually doing a lot less work since it's not running the game itself.

it could and i hope will happen eventually. the game isnt all that proc/vid intensive @ min settings so it shouldnt be an issue, if anyone knows the game bloodlines, the graphics for it were amazing, so if the game looked like that it would be fine. the controls arent all that complicated. but it would take a monumental task recompiling/writing the code to be able to run it as an ios app. which brings us back to the streaming idea. we could stream the game to the ipad/ios. and we would be able to play it. altho some of the controls would be a bit weird.

It's not about the graphics, it's all about controls.

The iPad just doesn't have the right controls for this kind of game.

No problem, here's another video from the same guy in the first one:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7GYczgIct7w&feature=youtu.be

He's kind of giving more in-depth instructions on following it. He does say that the xbox controller he's using is connected to his computer, not his ipad or android so that's one downside. As other's have pointed out the UI could be a struggle. I'm not sure about splashtop but I know Kainy allows you to fully customize your UI to include buttons that you change the size, shape, position, and function. So basically you can do whatever you're comfortable with. Another limiting factor is going to be your internet speed. Obviously the guy doing it in the videos is in his house, under the same network so if you're actually doing this on the go then you're going to want to make sure you have a reliable internet connection.

So... in order to go full iMouthBreather you need to go out of your way to stream content from a PC to an iPad so you can experience half the game and all the jitters?

What is this? I don't even...

It's just that the tablet is a new consumer medium, it's really great, and people want to experiment with it that's all.

As for the DisplayLink kinda thing it's very slow.

Sure I can extend my Windows 7 desktop on my "Retina" iPad but the graphics update are pretty laggy if the whole picture changes (eg. twitch.tv in extended desktop).

This is just people experimenting with a new way of playing.

Tablets are really awesome, they're just not very good for games right now.

Some games though are perfect on this kind of device, including classic RPGs like Baldur's Gate Enhanced Edition (coming soon), or the indie Avadon and Avernum.

Tablet gaming in general is pretty lame for "PC gamers", but as I said above for a few genres it works quite well, and very relaxing to be able to chill away from the computer desk now and then.

I call shenanigans. These devices are so much marketing hoopla with all the functionality and productivity of a wax toothpick.

Some games are great on the tablet platform. Plants Vs Zombies, World of Goo, Osmos. The gameplay just works well on that kind of device.
They are remaking Baulder's Gate.

It is called Baulders Gate Enhanced Edition.

http://baldursgate.com/

The windows version is available for preorder now, and an Ipad version is supposed to be out in September, and android at a later date.

From what I have read it still uses the infinity engine, just cleaned up a little and a couple of things added.

I'm wondering how Baulder's Gate will play out in today's world. From what I remember its fairly complicated.
