See it can be done
No. It can't. It can be streamed to the iPad which is not the same thing. Why would anyone want laggier performance on a substandard display? (aside from the me-so-clever-monkey stupidity that Apple markets to....)

Dude thanks :) I was feeling bad about trolling yesterday but you make me feel better :)

There is nothing novel about the iPad or its derivatives. They are simply a tablet PC with different components, based on the evolution of laptops and phones.

One day it will be powerful enough to play games like this, and you will simply pair them with wireless mouse/keyboard or even a virtual mouse/keyboard.... or potentially just kinect style gestures.

That day is not today however.

its not today, but it "should" be around january 2013 if industry reports are correct.. microsoft surface pro, (not the rt version). runs windows 8 (windows 7 with metro UI ontop and touchscreen controls), has a core i5, and although the graphics are probably going to be intel 3000/4000 gfx, it should still run POE fine, given you turn down some details a bit.

not today, but soooooon ;)
Things with "increased" and "decreased" in the tooltip are additive ... where as "More" or "Less" are multiplicative ...

I'm just going to reply to this, because Windows 8 is NOT wWindows 7 with the Metro UI. Windows 8 is a fundamentally changed OS compared to Windows 7, it's actually more akin to Apples iOS or even OSX, in that it is a locked down platform. So please, don't ever spout that Win8 is similar to Win7, it is not.

1) Completely OT... not even remotely related.
2) Left me wondering about when/how Windows was ever *not* "locked down"? :/
3) Windows 8 is Windows 7 +Metro garbage UI and some back-end performance tweaks.

No, see, you don't understand what this medium is about. The iPad is NOT a tablet PC. A tablet PC is just a PC in a tablet, it's a useless P.O.S.

I'm unsure you understand what a tablet PC is.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tablet_computer

The face of the tablet computer on that page is an Ipad.

Understanding what you are talking about before you talk about it is important to being taken seriously.

All of these devices are computers. All of them have OS interfaces that are in constant evolution, and have been since they were invented.

There is nothing special about these devices that wasn't present in previous generations of devices... the devices themselves are simply smaller due primarily to batteries, flash memory, screens, and smaller component technologies that were developed between older tablet computers and phones over the past 20 years. GUI interaction has evolved and improved in most cases along with the touch screen technology.

The rest is just hype, and eventually that will fade as the market becomes saturated. Tablets will become the norm, and then something else will eventually take their place.

ITT you are a mentally challenged lemming if you like tablets...

Get the F over yourself guys. We live in a world of choice. Who are you to say that one choice is better than the other? Or to say that someone is a "mouthbreather" for liking an highly portable, media consumption device (what a moron for liking something practical! /sarcasm)? Try this on for size, if you are too f***ing closed minded to accept that there are "different strokes for different folks," then you are a mouthbreathing, tinfoiled hat wearing, parent's basement living idiot who thinks that the world is flat, and the sun orbits the earth.

Now, back on topic, OP there is currently no native way to play POE on the iPad or any other tablet, but there are active developers out there, like Splashtop, that realize this is a niche that can be filled, and have started to take advice from the community on ways to make remote desktop clients gamer friendly. Is it a viable option? I would say not quite, especially for games with more in-depth controls like POE (the skill mechanics, not point and click). I have tried POE and D3 via Splashtop on my iPad 3rd gen (right after I got done licking the screen because I saw fruits on it, mmmmmm *breathes heavily through mouth only*), and while it looks and runs smooth, it is fairly difficult to control. This might be solvable via a keyboard and mouse connected (if jailbroken), but I have not attempted this.

And for all you out there (rustypup, zeto) who will say "Zomg y would you play it on an ipad when you can playz it on your computer you fackin retard?" I am not always on my desktop computer, don't own a laptop, and would enjoy to play at work while on break. Is that ok for you guys?

iPad/tablets in general are the monster cable of mobile computing. It would be intellectually dishonest of me to poke fun at "audiophiles" and not Apple-marketing-victims.

Also, the use of the word "choice" around something like Apple/iOS is hilarious.

I have a touchpad running Ice Cream Sandwich, Jelly Bean on my Galaxy S2, preordered the G1, etc. The 3rd gen iPad is one of the best tech purchases I have ever made. I used to be like you, until I realized that it is ok to try things that are different, you might just like it.
