Playing POE on My IPad
I've always said people who hate on i-Products in general are silly, however, it has o be said that the whole Apple-platform of products is severely limited.
(I've had to catch myself doing so at times) So what though? They perform their desired function and they perform it well. People claiming stuff like this is what makes me call silly even more however: " The iPad does the tasks in the very CLOSED SYSTEM it is designed to operate in very well. Your examples of following RSS feeds, reading news, and using it on other limited media platforms just shows how unimaginative you are in your usage. ...And how well that works for you, and others. On my 4 year old Samsung Galaxy S I do all that, I also emulate Nintendo ROMS and play them with a PS3 controller, I have Max Payne 2 with the same setup, car games, etc. Hooked up to a 42'' TV (pixelated to the max but fun). I have a light version of Linux Ubuntu running on it, I have it overclocked between 10-40%, upgraded audio drivers/handlers that Apple products only can dream of, and this on top of doing all the things (and more) that the iPhone and iPad can do. Our smartphones are almost limitless so long as there are people out there with the imagination and wits to make it happen (I'm not one of them, I'm just a user :p), however, Apple and their general userbase show the excact opposite tendencies, they praise new products for doing stuff than an old NOKIA 3330 (3310 with WAP) could do with some updates. And that's what peeves me, the users and merketers that claim bullshit all the time, bragging about stuff that ought not be bragged about. Bragging about RSS feed support is like a girl bragging about her duckface on the internet. |

Fun fact: this thread has been inactive for 35 times as long as your account has existed. :P
They plan to add trading features to the website. Hopefully they will make sure it has a usable interface on mobile browsers. That's probably a better use of their time and resources than working on separate mobile apps that will require indefinite developer support. Much easier to add "test it on Mobile Safari and Mobile Chrome" to their web development testing process than to develop new native software apps for mobile clients. " Thought it would get more views than starting an empty thread.. Probably not the place to debate about the pros and cons of native apps vs. web based apps, but I agree it really depends on if the devs have the resources to make one. Though two million players, with half having an iOS device at $2 a pop would be a very healthy revenue stream which may be worth investing in further resources |
