is there a 64 bit executabe for P.O.E.?
" So why do the rest of us suffer for the 1/3? It's worth noting that +2 maps are a dangerous thing.
They can cause players to get out of their depth - playing maps that are too hard for the items they currently have. Herp Derp. |

" It would allow those of us with more than 4GB of RAM to actually use more than 4GB for PoE, for one thing. 1/3 of the user base is on 32-bit OS... but that means that 2/3 are on 64-bit. Majority wins? ;) It doesn't have to be a replacement for 32-bit, but an option to run a 64-bit executable would be nice. |

I cannot even fathom programmers today programming without 64 bits in mind. It's really not very hard to do. I have personally ported a 32 bit app to 64 bits.
It's always the same problem. Either everything move together or nothing move at all. House of card design. Maybe someday, when 32 bits is gone, we'll laugh at it like we laugh at 16 bits. |

I will lead the 64 bit revolution and upgrade from XP at the beginning of next month!

It's hard to move on from XP, I sympathize.
THe devs could make available a 64b version, but it'd mean they'd have 2x the QA work, potentially. Killing 1/3 your playerbase would be a bad financial move. My Keystone Ideas: http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/744282

" I know what 64 bit does vs 32 bit. I'm still wondering why you want it. so you can use more ram isn't an answer. It wouldn't necessarily run better in any perceivable way. " If you're a PC gamer, it's not hard to move on from XP at all. That's like saying it's hard to move on from Super Nintendo. Última edição por DamageIncorporated#7815 em 18 de fev. de 2014 18:17:18

Windows XP is simple, stable, cheap, compatible, and isn't Vista or Windows 8. If it weren't for M$'s apology w/ W7, I would still be on XP.
It is highly likely I will be on W7 until I am forced to go to Linux, unless M$ releases another XP down the line. My Keystone Ideas: http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/744282

" Making the game run as a 64-bit native app will not fix your frame stutter issues. First problem I see: Windows Server 2012 Datacenter. Server-edition versions of Windows often have DirectX stripped out of them because, well, it's a server and doesn't need DirectX. Even if you install them back in there will inevitably be performance impacts. Additionally, video card drivers are very highly optimized for desktop OSes, and not the schedulers or kernels used by server operating systems. Just for example, Just Cause 2 has many issues running on Windows Server due to the lack of XInput natively on the OS. Second problem I see: Intel Core 2 Duo E6850 Processor running a Windows Server 2012 Datacenter installation. That processor came out in 2007. 3.0 Gigahertz or not, the performance of that processor leaves much to be desired and acts as your system's bottleneck. Before whining and nagging about asking for a 64-bit executable so that you can have theoretical performance improvements at supposedly no cost, I'd rather you used a proper desktop OS, optimized drivers and better hardware when playing. Software can only do so much, if you want good performance, get good hardware. |

Same argument about people really still use 32 bit OS can be said about HDD users lol.
This is 2014 damnit. |

" I still use XP on a dual boot laptop for gigs. Stable as! |
