The truth about RMT and Botting

Do you honestly think that current exchange rates would be what they are if there were NO RMT sites whatsoever?

These sites set prices they want and then the in-game economy follows BECAUSE players follow those prices.

Therefore, people buying from RMT sites does indeed affect the game's economy. It's not the same as someone giving it away.

If "orbs are readily availible to everyone" than where's the progress? wheres the differentiation between characters??

It all boils down to requiring a huge nerf to what makes the game enjoyable, in order to take the real $ value out of the game.

besides most casual players can get all the gear you need for their given level. "pro" players have a buncha crap they dont need and they play and reroll a million characters and need the gear for all those guys so if you really dont have that much time to play then how would you have 5 lvl 90s that you need gear and 20% gems for.,

i mean yeh it sucks gridning for gear guys if its not your thing. you aint the merchant treasure hunter class then. just play for fun and you will eventually have what you need if you have everything then whats the point in playing. the game will be too easy.

imagine king arthur was like omgz i want best gear NOW and then his army was like omgz we all want best gear then the lady of the lake is like OK EXCALIBURS FOR EVERYONE. then arthurs enemies were like omgz we want best gear too ect.

all im saying is i went into torchlight 2 multiplayer and somone comes in my game gives me 1 billion gold these 2 hacked rings that make me unable to die and all the best lvl 100 weapons he just gives me like every unique in the game.
so i quit playing the next day

I really hate those annoying capcha things. I would quit immediately. Worst idea ever.

IMHO, it is impossible for developers to identify and eliminate bots effectively while using a passive system. FFA is the only effective passive measure that works on bots, and that is largely do to players. The other possibility is an active approach that eliminates anonymity at the account creation process.

This is far from the truth. Botters are a separate issue. You keep botters in the game too, because you are a potential customer. Botters are here to bot out orbs and gear also on private account. It's quite common that the best players, mostly students of computer related studies use bots to be the best.

They're not the best, they're cheaters, and thus disqualified from consideration from being the most skilled.

I mean, I could go on, but the long and short of it is loso is okay with RMT, and he's okay with botting, so he pretty much has no problem with cheating whatsoever.
